Are the Bulls gonna have enough cap space to sign a max free agent this summer?
I don't believe so, but it will be close to the max after amnestying Boozer and not re-signing Hinrich.

Edit:

I almost forgot, if the Bulls bring over Mirotic, that will take out a decent amount of their cap space too since he is not subject to the rookie scale anymore. The Bulls should also have two first round draft picks (their own and the Bobcats' if they make the playoffs) that will take away some cap space as well.

So it really is NY or LA :smh:

People may hate on D'Antoni but he always has random end of the bench/D-League All-Stars having career years. Bazemore and Kendall Marshall are out there killing right now.

Pau was highly upset and critical that Bazemore and Brooks came in and started gunning the other week.

Chicago can backload the contract and they're also willing to dip into the luxury tax ..

The way i understand it, if Melo wants max money, Bulls would have to amnesty Boozer, lose Taj Gibson and others, and not sigh Miritoc........., just to sign Melo.............i dont know if i want to do that. Now, if Melo is willing to take less, then obviously there are other options

Chicago trades Carlos Boozer, their first, Charlotte's first, and the 1st rounder from the Kings acquired as part of the Luol Deng trade for Carmelo Anthony.

That move would put us about 2 million over the luxuray tax. It also allows us to keep Taj and bring Mirotic over as well.

I think at this point Melo will take a pay cut if it means putting himself into a position where he thinks he can legitimately win a championship. Does he think Rose will come back and be reliable health wise is the main question.

How much less can melo really take? He can't go from 130m to 70m

He's probably gonna opt in for next year then weigh his options in 2015

Does he want to win or make more money? That's really the question for him. Either way I can't fault him but if he chooses money his allstar jacket won't change for the next couple years

He should just retire with dignity.

Maybe Adidas can do a retirement ad campaign with a special "retirement edition" sneaker.
