Blake probably one of those dude who talk craps during game. Who know? He could be one of those cocky dude on the court who who like to say something smart after a play to his opponents to tick them off. Maybe that's why he got into many scuffles.

^^^ Not trying to get on my high horse or anything, but I don't think its cool to take shots a cities like that. Yes, some places are nicer than others, but most major cities have their good qualities.

In regards to that Grantland article, they alluded to something that I've said previously in this thread. And that's that I believe Chicago and Toronto could challenge Indy in a seven game series. At the end of the day, I would not be surprised if Indy found themselves in a dog fight, 2-2 with either of those teams. Washington is also another team that I feel that can challenge indy. BKN is 22-9 since Jan 1st and are prime for a nice playoff run IMO. Indy just doesn't an elite offense, nor do they have the elite offensive player to alleviate how bad they are offensively. That'll be a huge issue in the playoffs.
Oh and this may be a bit of a sensationalist opinion of sorts, but in my 22 years of living, I have never seen a more awesome on ball defender than Patrick Beverly. Been watching him a lot, and he's on it man. No fouling, just full court man to man pressure defense. On some VCU Shaka Smart type ****. The type of defense that is seen heavy in High School, but dissipates completely once people get into the NBA. Kind of refreshing to see that style of defense in the league. It forces basketball players to actually be players and prove themselves.

you may be a bit young to remember the defense played when hand checking was still allowed. guys like gp, dumars, alvin robertson would be all over their man. avery bradley is a complete ball hawk as well. just the C's are so terrible this yr and he doesnt get much airtime

I don't see how Chicago can beat Indy, they both hang their hats on defense and Indy is the better defensive team.

Tony Allen doesn't do it as consistently throughout the game as Beverly or Bradley, but he's pretty relentless too when he wants to be.

Yeah I was going to point out that Avery Bradley is another one that I'm really impressed with Defensively.
And I've watched some film of those guys and GP and Dumars were especially phenomenal at what they did on that side of the ball. My dad loved GP's defense. He still feels that had GK put GP on Jordan the entire series, the sonics would have won in 96'. However, the revered handchecking era is an era that I am not a fan of. I do not feel that that's actually defense. Defense is played with your feet, not by handchecking and riding the guy with your forearm when the offensive player is trying to make a move. That's a foul all day everyday and that was prevalent in the 90's. That's what makes Pat Bev and Avery so impressive defensively.

That's fair, and that's also exactly why I feel like it would be a dog fight. Terrible offenses = a close game with under 5 minutes left, in which the Bulls would have a chance to win all of those games. Not saying that the Bulls would win, but they certainly have a shot.

I still think Indiana's offense is going to end up wasting this extremely rare defense...but it's not going to be teams like Washington or Chicago or the Nets...it'll only be Miami or OKC.
