2013-2014 NBA Thread - IND @ WAS and OKC @ LAC on ESPN

OKC would wash the Pacers, though :nerd:

You're implying the Pacers can win the East.

don't see it.
Why not? Indiana right now is one of the best defensive teams in the history of the league. George and Hibbert have gotten better. They've bolstered their bench from last year by adding Scola, Bynum, and Turner. And they might have HCA this time around --although that isn't set in stone just yet

Meanwhile the Heat have fallen off hard defensively (you can say they're 'coasting' but going from a top 5 defense to 14th is never good), and we have no idea what's going on with Wade. The cumulative effects of all these playoff runs will take its toll. We all know the historical precedent behind a team trying to make 4 consecutive finals.

Yes the Heat have Lebron, but Lebron beasted against Indy last year and they still almost lost. One guy can't beat an elite team all by himself, no matter how dominant he is. Even Shaq in his prime needed Kobe to go ham for the Lakers to get past some of those Western teams back in the day.

I'm pretty sure Indiana would be favored in a series against Miami, at least in Vegas. I don't think Miami is still considered the *outright* favorite to win the title.

dt43 dt43 He is messing around with you man. When people start the LeBron hype in here, FF joins in and just makes outlandish comments for satirical purposes. It's hilarious too because sometimes people cosign him not knowing he's nowhere near serious.

If Memphis gets that 8th seed, that'll be a dangerous match up for OKC. That isn't a typical 8th seed. I wouldn't be surprised if Memphis got out of that match up as victors.

Still got the Clips coming out of the west if they are healthy come postseason. I truly believe Blake Griffin, CP3, along with a healthy supporting cast and a competent coach is more than enough to do so.

I also think the Heat will end up with Homecourt through the eastern conference playoffs. Looks like Lebron and co. are turning it up a bit right here and I think they'll catch them before the season is over.

 Oh okay, I hadn't caught on to that

Anti is correct but if you put a gun to my head and made me pick a champ I would pick miami.

Of course nothing would be better to see them get knocked out just for the shenanigans.

A LeBron 2014 thread would be made moments after.

Im curious to see if he left Miami if any heat fans on here would pull an OC.

Id love to see Miami not make the finals or lose in the finals

will it happen? uhhh. not too sure. i dont know if i trust any team in the west to take care of them :smh:

Why do you want to see them lose?
FF... Heat fans will still be heat fans.. LeBron fans will follow him to another team if he left..

to watch heat fans cry? especially lebron fans

i just dont like Wade really, would be nice if Bron was on a different team.

but honestly unlike most of the lebron haters on here, i kinda wanna see bron win some more MVPs and titles and build up a great resume especially since i get to see it all

If you're not a Heat fan you want to see them lose... why? Because they've won 2 straight and no one is trying to see another one.

People were pumped when Auburn beat Bama... why? Because it meant a new champ would be crowned.

It's not personal, people just like to see a new winner.

if gsw gets a run going in the plyoffss and gets hot like the mavs did do you think they can win it all?
Thing is, we're not even the best in the west. I know we took care of business on the road against Miami, but we couldn't at home.

IF, and that's a big IF, Bogut would be the X factor for that game IMO. He's the defensive presence that would make LBJ think twice driving to the hole...Maybe .

No. Too young and not enough playoff experience. Dirk, Jet and J-Kidd had all been to the finals before and lost. Plus, I don't think GSW has anyone who can go on the kind of dominant run that Dirk did in 2011. Curry is great, but he's not the walking mis-match that Dirk was/is.

Exactly. I don't hate the Heat, but I'd like to see someone else win. Would be more interesting to me....

especially if it's the Clippers. (Also makes me nervous though. If LAC were to win the NBA title, I think it's 50/50 Armageddon would follow soon after).

I used to be the same way. But now, I'm glad to see teams dominate and make dynasties.. I'm old enough to see the Bulls and Lakers do it.. I want my son to remember that the heat were that good..

If the Clippers can't win the Chip I would love to see the Heat get a 3rd. Favorite team to watch besides Sacramento.

BTW, I'm sure it's been posted but that article about Felton wanting people to stop calling him fat
