Question about stats.

If a players swipes a ball away or tips a pass and his teammate picks it up, who gets credited with the assist?

And does an off the backboard alley oop count as an assist? Or does the dunker get credited with a rebound and a basket?

i remember a few years ago when a player did an off the backboard to himself, it counted as a missed shot, rebound, and bucket.

who knows how it is now especially with another player throwing the lob off the backboard, should count as a miss for the player throwing it but not sure how it is right now

I believe that's it should be now... The first player went off the backboard(missed shot)... Second player catches it(rebound) and dunks it(points) makes sense to me at least
