blake's ball handling ability separates him from other athletic PF/C. Ibaka and Faried aren't creating their own shot as often or as well as blake can. not to mention, his midrange game is getting dangerously good. i'd take BG over faried and ibaka any day.
Ibaka developed a good midrange shot this season
He been knocking some threes also
I will give you that BG is still better offensively though

Carmelo has never missed the Playoffs or had a losing record in the WC during the historic Duncan/Kobe dynasty eras.

The only other players to do that were Nash and Garnett.

Pay homage.

Cat's just hate on Melo because they can. He's an elite talent and with the right roster he will be chilling in the Finals.

This was a GREAT All-Star Game and a pretty good All-Star Weekend overall.

serious question
is wade resting his legs or his knees officially done? i know he was just coasting and not, but had a few chances to dunk or explode to the rim tonight.
dont catch too much heat gms, but in those gms that he does play, is he still explosive? does he show it for a few stretches and pick and choose or has his gm basically aged and he is relying more on the shot and pump fake

I was talking about this with my homies....

It looks like Wade's knees are finito.

Penny x T-Mac status.

I wanna see melo shine

Its sad a player of his calibur is rottting in the rotten apple

He needs to be smart and leave.

Imagine melo on the bulls.

When has "Melo" (since it is a 1-on-1 sport :rolleyes) lost a series that he was supposed to win? If he was NEVER expected to win a ring, why are we punishing him for not winning a ring exactly? I never understood that logic man.

But basketball is a team sport people.

It's an all-star game.. nothing that happens is actually that serious or important. Blake's rep as one dimensional should have been debunked awhile ago. He doesn't just dunk... it's just what people say when they want to be critical of Blake. That and he flops or is "soft"
Yea this whole, "Let's discuss how great ____ is because of a performance at an ASG" kills me. As if anything changed from the days before until the day of that game. Folks did the same with Drummond the other day LOL

He's also a far superior passer than either of them.

Only thing Ibaka has on him is off ball defense and 3pt range, which Blake can develop.

No steady PG play
No solid number 2 for scoring
Bigs that don't defend well / rebound

Yea, your right.

And average Knick game is Melo carrying the team for 3 quarters and getting what ever is he can from who ever can score that night.

Then the half way thru the 4th Woodson gets out coached, then it becomes ISO Ball with Melo taking a rushed shot or a highly contested shot because no one else can score.

It's why I don't see how Melo doesn't leave. It isn't his fault the Knicks FO and coaching staff is inept, he's gotta do what's best for his legacy at this point. I'm not sure what other star he can recruit to play with him in the current NY situation. He already said he's got no problem taking less than the max? Sounds familiar to 3 guys who linked in MIA.

Melo with a real PG/rim protectors can do exactly what he is elite at, getting the ball in space at that foul line extended and giving ****** work.

NY just ain't the place for that, roster is a joke. KD/Bron/PG, none of those guys would do THAT much better on that team either.

BS: When is Russ back?

KD: Next game out of the break, against Miami.

He prefers to be called "The Servant" as a nickname.

Melo slander has been warranted in the past, but not so much this year. He's played great, focused basketball. Doing the best he can when you have that clown JR smoking and partying before games, Felton's fat *** getting sleepy DURING games, STAT not either being able to play for long stretches or Woody not choosing to play him. Chandler hurt, etc. it's a lot to overcome, even when he's probably having the best year of his career.

Like others have said this team sans Melo has regressed from last season, didn't think losing Kidd and Sheed would make that big of a difference in the locker room, but from the way Melo has been talking this season, seems the rest of his squad just isn't focused most nights or don't have any energy for various reasons.

Let the guy actually get on a team where he can be the No. 2 guy or at least a team where he's got another legit star next to him to then judge him. CP3 is in the same boat, yet has a loaded squad, he loses, and nothing gets said.

All that said, Melo to the Bulls in the offseason please, I don't want him anywhere near the Lakers with Bean taking up so much cap space.

co-sign, and I hate the Clippers

wouldn't put it past him... but I just cant see him comfortable as a 2nd or 3rd option though. Its not in his "DNA"

plus he said he doesnt want to be a avg player...

Kobe knows that people believe he only has "2 rings" and Mike has 6. He knows he can't match THAT so I don't think he will.
I think people buy into those narratives more than the players do.

I just don't think at the end of the day if Kobe could walk away with 7 championships next to his name in the books...that he would pass it up. As long as he can still run up and down a floor.

I don't mean "chase" like Kobe pulling a Mitch Richmond. I think it would have to take a "super roster" somewhere else to get him to leave LA and he'd still be a 2nd/3rd option.

I could see Bean playing for the Knicks honestly. Or even BK. Could just see him wanting to spend a year or two in NY just for the experience.

Does Shaq win three rings in LA without Kobe? If he had a John Starks type, would he have still three-peated?
