the players wanting to play for _______ team just because its _______ team thing is overrated. the three major factors for a player when choosing teams is 1. location 2. money 3. talent level of the team (may not be in that exact order). for the past 15 years players have wanted to play for the lakers because of a combo of those three things, not because of the name in front of the jersey, if the clippers can offer free agent X around the same amount of money as the lakers can AND have a better team than the lakers do then free agent X will go to the clippers 100% of the time.

we (lakers) cant rely on "because we are the lakers" to get free agents, we need to build a solid foundation (good coach, good players) so that the team is an attractive destination for free agents. which is another reason why this upcoming draft is so important for us

Jerome Williams was there, saw him 2 of the 3 nights to whoever asked about him. Maybe he just doesn't get courtside front couple of rows anymore because those are for the players.
