The NBA is watered down because dudes are getting drafted after 1 year of college ball.

They need that farm system or something to that extent Do Work Son or 3 like the NFL.

Chill fam thats too much, the d-league is taking steps to becoming a farm system

But 2 years is probably the most they should be required to do, i still miss the straight outta high school guys

For every LeBron I'm sure there's a ton of Ndudi Ebi's.

I honestly believe adapting baseball'rules would be amazing for the NBA
And for every Tim Duncan there's a Wayne Simien.

The rule shouldn't have been instituted IMO.

Practicing against the best players in the world everyday > going up against college dudes. Steel sharpens steel.

If you can play, you'll stick around. If not, you'll be overseas. Doesn't matter how long u played college ball.

Interesting counterpoint. I think the baseball style gives you the best of both worlds. Those who are more ready can declare, those who aren't can go to college
Ah, I see what you're saying now. I agree.

this only 8 teams from each conference league is very interesting

it would be really cool if at the end of each season they took the best 8 teams from east and west then placed them in a playoff of sorts to allow them to fight for the title of the best team in the league

Shaq gets up out of the throne and pulls out a lighter and Mclemrore's contract, lights it on fire then drops the burning paper over Mclemore while he is withering in pain on the floor.

Hands down, would have been the highlight of All Star Weekend

  wow

As far as the D-League talk, I do like how their profile has gradually risen. It's slowly getting away from it being a stigma to the players to being recognized as a valuable asset. One reason why it's a stigma is cause its referred to as the D-League. Everybody knows its for development, but simply calling it that makes it sound second rate and maybe even a joke.

D-league is a joke because those dudes play for stats and ball hog all day
cause they're hungry to get in the nba

d league may be a joke to some, but it's because the league basically treats it like a redheaded stepchild and doesn't do enough to actually develop the players into the majors

It starts with the owners investing in the d league and using it to actually develop young players instead of clinging onto older players.

The rockets have used it effectively, see Terrence Jones

i think GS is starting to use it correctly also

Get rid of cheap owners and bad front office people

Move the Bucks to Seattle, put Memphis, Minnesota, or New Orleans in the East

Your top tier prospects can go back to declaring after high school. It then becomes the organizations decision to throw them into the fire or develop them on their NBDL team.

It allows flexibility amongst prospects to choose what they feel is best for them. No more having to go to college just because.

17 teams in the NBA are under .500 , that is more than half of the league and you guys think I'm crazy for wanting to contract league? No I just like to support and watch a good polished product sorry.

the thing is, the d league isn't just about getting called up the the NBA. your best D league player is probably a rotation guy at best. the D league is the most scouted pro league in the world. it helps fringe guys get in or back into the league and it lands higher paying jobs overseas for guys who aren't NBA players.

i personally know a dude who went from the trap to playing ball in the Czech republic. he literally had never been outside of dallas.

Tanking, injuries, bad owners/management/coaching will cause that.

everytime someone wins a game another team gets a L

there will always be around half the teams in the league under .500

There'd be no tanking in a contracted league though. Bad owners would have to really be bad to prove they are in a contracted league as well. Injuries happen so that's a wash.
