Gary Neal and Luke Ridnour press conference.
no way this is real right? right??

It's more the fact that he and Pek are bad rim protectors, that's the difference between Blake/DJ, LMA/Lopez Dirk/WrightDalembert

The talent around Love is definitely that bad, don't know where you're going there

When your second best player is a PG who scores once a month in the 4th quarter, you're not going to win. Take Kevin Love off this team and they're competing with the Magic and Sixers for Wiggins.

Not to mention injuries decimated them previous years
This is true.  It's an excellent offensive frountcourt but brutal from a defensive perspective, and Love's deficiencies could definitely be partially hidden with a defensive specialist center.

I agree about the injuries in years past, but if this guy is a true superstar then this team shouldn't already be out of playoff contention.  That's my opinion.

Please tell me, how many All-NBA Teams did all those players make while on the Mavericks? And how many All-Stars at that?

Jerry Stackhouse?! Dog...
roll.gif

That wasn't Detroit Pistons Jerry Stackhouse.

He never shot better than 42.8%. His time in Dallas he shot roughly 41%. And ~28-30% from deep. That's HORRENDOUS.

It's like mentioning Vince Carter as a deciding factor on this current team.

Jason Terry, Josh Howard, Jason Kidd, and Devin Harris were all GOOD players, but none of those guys were ever like Pau Gasol, Wade, Ray Allen, Manu Ginobili, etc. Those guys were all sidekicks on Championship teams.

The Mavs winning in 2011 is similar to the Pistons beating the Lakers. It was a great team effort, but none of those guys are NBA All-Stars, or All-NBA Players other than Dirk and Tyson Chandler.

My case and point:

Jason Terry since 2011? Dud.
Tyson Chandler since 2011? Decent, but he made a HUGE payday off that year in Dallas.
Jason Kidd since 2011? Nothing, and retired.
JJ Barea since 2011? Dud.
DeShawn Stevenson since 2011? Dud.
Shawn Marion since 2011? Defense hasn't been the same.
Ian Mahinmi? Same as what he was, but a non-factor for the most part.
Brendan Haywood? Dud.
Corey Brewer? Role player, but he has probably played the best out of that group other than Tyson.

Further emphasizing my point...

Josh Howard after Dallas? Dud.
Devin Harris after Dallas? Dud.
Jason Kidd after Dallas? Dud.

And some further points,

OJ Mayo last year? Second-best year of his career.
Tyson Chandler his only year in Dallas? Best of his career.
Monta Ellis this year? Second-best year of his career.
Jose Calderon this year? Best year of his career scoring and shooting-wise.

Dallas has always gotten the most out of their players, and have always had great coaching to bring the most out of their guys. It's Dirk, it's the city, it's the coaching. It isn't that we've had great talent throughout the years.

The best players since Nash left have been Tyson Chandler (One year), Jason Terry (No All-Star/All-NBA appearances), and Jason Kidd (Who was a shell of his former self).
Great response.  Because Dirk has made magic happen over and over again with teams that had no secondary star and average at best talent.

Frankly some of his teams have been as bad as LeBron's Cav teams in retrospect.  The man is incredible for what he has been able to do in the West.

Caron Butler to be bought out, and probably headed to the Heat.

Would love for him to come back to Dallas. He's far superior to Vince Carter. At least Caron can score efficiently, not turn the ball over as much, and plays better defense.

Meh.  You're just being disingenous.  All of the guys he mentioned for Dallas (outside of Mahinmi) were expected to be core supporters for Dirk, including his #1 sidekick on each team.

According to NT, Kevin Garnett isn't a winner either? Because he played for that same Minnesota franchise and missed the playoffs three years in a row, IN HIS PRIME. And I don't mean barely missed the playoffs, those were like 30-win teams. Yet once he got a team around him, he started experiencing some success and the narrative changed..

Don't understand this 'winner' stuff, at least not when it comes to someone like Kevin Love. The dude is obviously an amazing player, he can rebound like no other and score from anywhere. If you put the right team around a player like that you can go far.

I mean let's look at the facts.. Blake Griffin is playing with a HOFer, LMA is playing with an All-Star PG, Bosh is playing with two HOFers, Love is playing with... *crickets*

Where are his All-Stars at???

That's why I hope he goes to the Lakers, do what you need to do Kevin. And people forget he's only 25, his career is just beginning. When he's 35 with some rings under his belt, all these same detractors are gonna be saying "Kevin Love :pimp: :pimp: I always knew he was a great player man"

Those teams are all high seeds and contenders, the Timberwolves can't even stay at .500.

I'm not saying that Minnesota should be contending with Love, just that they should be contending for a playoff spot.

Pekovic, Rubio, Kevin Martin, Budinger, Barea...  these are not bad players.  They aren't stars, but they're starters on many teams in the league (okay maybe not Barea).

Tho I like the belt thing those are the type of things that make other teams and other players hate the heat lmao.
