is bledsoe gonna be back at anytime this year? or is he done for the season?

opting to have his meniscus removed, he was planning to comeback. if he didnt, he shouldve gotten it repaired and sat out the season.
im hearing mid march

Everyone thought I was going overboard when i said the Knicks have the worst starting PG (Felton), SG (Shump) and C (Tyson) in the league early in the season.

:rolleyes

Shump and Chandler would aren't that bad

LOL you really dont believe that.

I'd rather have them than those dogs the Lakers and Bucks throw out there on a nightly.

I rather have Kendall/Xavier Henry/Kaman and Brandon Knight/Mayo/Larry Sanders

Ya'll been talking about how washed Danny Granger is for the past two seasons. Now all of a sudden he goes to the Clippers and "Durant's gonna have his hands full" ?

cant really blame him. past injury problems and contract year. he was probably looking to get paid with a long term deal.

i've got some idea changes for my draft reform i'd like some input on:

my idea was initially that all players were eligible to be drafted out of high school, but if they went to a d1 they had to stay 3 years. or they could go to juco for 1 year. then i though, what's the incentive to go juco if you just declare out of high school. here's my new idea to fix that

all players are eligible to be drafted out of high school, however, a player must be at least 1 year removed from high school before he can play in an NBA game. if the player decides he would like to do that, he would be drafted and would play in the NBDL for at least 1 full season before becoming eligible for the NBA.

if a player decides to go to JUCO, he is eligible after his first full JUCO season to be drafted. upon being drafted, it is up to the team whether or not the player will be assigned to the NBA roster, or their NBDL affiliate.

if a player goes to a d1 university, he must remain at that level for 3 seasons before declaring for the NBA draft. again, this player would be assigned to the NBA roster or NBDL affiliate at the team's discretion.

thoughts?

I think the proposed two years removed from HS will be sufficient enough.

The reason I propose it as such, is hoping that it generates extra revenue into JUCO programs and the NBDL

Just like a struggling restaurant with too big of a menu selection, those are way too many options to make the draft rules effective

I'm not a fan of two years. They're not doing two years to protect the kids. They're doing two years to make more money on them while they're still amateurs.

i don't think they should be able to hold kids out of the draft if they are good enough to be drafted then let them. Holding them out is taking years off of their NBA Career.

It's about making the NBA product better. Imagine how good Davis, Durant, Wall, Cousins, etc. would be their rookie years if they stayed one extra year? They might be good enough to avoid those rookie growing pains and be actual franchise players from the jump.

Ideally you want the top pick to be a star from the jump, not a project. Players either massively progress their sophomore years or are exposed like say Perry Jones or Jared Sullinger or Marcus Smart. It sucks for the players but it helps players come in more NBA ready and it gives teams more time to properly scout instead of projecting how they may develop.

Why would anyone with pro aspirations go to school under those rules?

Not everyone is NBA ready out of high school.

Who cares about JUCO though?

I could understand the NBDL argument though.

It's just a thought. Juco isn't as important as expanding the NBDL.

THIS. under a new system, you can draft your project guys, and not have to stash them on the end of the bench, or throw them into a fire they aren't ready for.

Put em in the NBDL do they can develop, without sacrificing quality of your NBA product

i think no matter how many years they're in college they are gonna struggle adjusting to the NBA, so might as well start that process a couple years earlier if the player is good enough to be in the NBA.

Also, nobody is forcing these teams to throw their rookies into the starting lineup and play big minutes
