CP3, Durant, Melo, and a bunch of other guys don't deserve the "super star" title and to be discussed on the same realm as guys who transcended to the next level like Kobe, Duncan, MJ, Shaq, Wade, etc.

That hardware is really what separates the men from the boys. I do personally feel like the "SUPERSTAR" thing is a marketing tactic to boost the value of these players to sell tickets and merchandise.


Because imo KD is a star, a great player. But Lebron is a superstar. That ring solidified him being SUPER.


Its all about that hardware.

yeah, i agree with this. earlier in this thread i already said that KD isnt a superstar yet because hes only 25 and has yet to win a ring. 

of course it all comes down to how you define a superstar and having a different definition doesnt mean you're wrong

PG defense is minimally important thought, no one lauds that point more than anyone than you when you spent years pimping Nash.

Steph changes the game in a way that CP3 hasn't since his knee injuries. He has to be covered from 30 feet out and changes the way teams play defense.

The PG position is just not that important when your playing with the best players in the world. Good passing comes from 5 guys moving the ball not one of them orchestrating the movement independently. If you can't go out and score 30 for a series, your not to be the guy on a playoff team.

pretty much. theres no rule in basketball that forces the shortest guy on the court to dribble the ball a lot and run the offence

ill take mj, kobe, lebron, wade running the offense as my "pg" 10 out of 10 times over cp3 or any pg in nba history other than magic who was pretty much lebron sized.

I really don't think its foolish. I really think it comes down to who ultimately gets the job done at the end of the post season.


As great as Charles Barkley is, you know the difference between him and MJ. Between Patrick Ewing and Kareem.


I really think people give these guys who haven't achieved the ultimate goal too much credit in comparison to the guys that have.


Favorites aside. IMO you can't put Wolverine on the same level as Superman until he saves the world, b.


People are trying really hard nowadays to discredit the value of winning titles. Giving players just as much, if not more credit than the guys who play just as many games and ultimately, get the job done. KD is not on Lebrons level at the end of the day for that exact reason. And thats the difference between a star and a superstar.

That's why I brought it up this morning. Skip may troll but his points and argument about Paul and what a superstar is this morning was valid regardless if you like him or not. You don't have to agree but can't flat out dismiss it as outrageous either.
