Athletes can have their endorsements deals reneged for saying controversial things. Can the same happen for the Clippers? Can Sterling have his tv deal reneged? If so I think that would be a major step in removing him from ownership, followed by other sponsors of the Clips.

I don't know legally what the NBA can do because being racist isn't against the law but I imagine the owners could force him out somehow. There are ways I'm sure.

The most they can do is fine/suspend him from team activities. Which doesn't stop him from collecting checks.
The MLB did this to the Reds owner in the 90s.
Sure the players could protest, but are they willing to sit out for the remaininder of their contracts. Millionaires ain't going to outlast a Billionaire.

There is no way they are stripping him of the owner tag. He'll get a hefty fine (100 mill), but he'll experience the true repercussions of this case when no future free agent will want to sign with the Clippers and they will forever suck. No one will start attending games and he'll just be losing crazy money.
