Even with tony Allen on him he still should be able to get his teammates involved and get then open shots. Your gonna tell me KD who's shot was so effortless this year earlier and the guy some of y'all were claiming he was the best in the world can't get going or at least do enough to get out the first round? It doesn't matter who its against and let's not forget this Grizzles team got swept by the spurs last year so there not that good as your making then out to be just a bad match up for okc.

he was the facilitator the first half of the season (with Westbrook who is now averaging 26 shots a game), which exposes you weren't (aren't) watching basketball until the playoffs at best

Kevin Durant was pretty reliable when he gave a million to OKC disaster relief.

Was that on the front page of a newspaper?

LoL yes, but is that even relevant right now?

He is a 90% ft shooter who shot 50% last game, 50%fg shooter who is shooting in the high 30's, right now he is unreliable.

@ comparing Bron in 2010 to KD now.

Bron woulda stayed in Cleveland if he was playing with two guys as good/young as Russ/Ibaka.

They both had pretty bad coaches though.

So you're saying he is poised to lose in the 1st rd, with superior talent? So that would be worse right? Any criticism is warranted

thats cool, hopefully yall drive him out to Houston. Im seriously confused as to how the problems OKC is facing offensively aren't obvious. Just compare it to the entire first half of the season. Boys are on actual ****** out here
He's a ***** if he leaves over a newspaper headline anyways, if he leaves it will be because Presti has failed to surround him with championship caliber talent (and coach) in his mind.

And big markets newpapers would be on him much worst anyways

you all really complaining about the amount of criticism KD is getting? It's so light, especially compared to what LeBron or even his teammate point guard gets. He's about to win MVP and be eliminated in the first round. It should get worst, and if so it's warranted. But it won't, it'll mostly go to WB

And Mr Unreliable was the #1 trending topic an hour ago, page click throughs, so mission accomplished.

If you read the article itself, it's not incindeary or untrue at all. It's mostly focused around his FT shooting (50% last game) and his inconsistent effort

regular season games are meaningless if you dont show up to the playoffs

this guy balled hard for 82 games only to give up in the first round

Your still talking about the regular season huh. This is the playoffs now where everything matters. It doesn't matter if you do it in the regular season that doesn't win you anything.

Just curious what do you think the problem is right now?

 @ comparing Bron in 2010 to KD now.

.... but OKC plays in the West. So much tougher of a road to travel.

:rolleyes

he doesnt have the ball in his hands in the playoffs. Tony allen is draped all over him and they keep turning it over or having bad posessions trying to post him up or straight iso. So then when he finally does get a touch, he jacks. Yall may not have followed KD for very long, but KD is susceptible to jacking. he did it for like his first two years.

He was killing THIS regular season as the facilitator. defensively, teams could not scheme against him because he was making the right passes and it was all easy open shots. Playing more of a Miami brand of basketball, and when teams were forced to play him straight...he went off individually.

the 2nd half of the season when they switched their whole approach, all of that fell off. FF to the playoffs, and they still play their best when they are sharing the ball

yall slow

who cares about the regular season, act like a ***** in the playoffs and you will get sent home.

great scorers deal with tough defense every year b

KD is basically at the same juncture that Lebron was in the 2010 playoffs vs the Celtics, MVP of the league in his 7th year on the brink of elimination on the road. Unfortunately KD is still under contract so he can't bolt after his 7th season like LeBron did. And this is where the slander cannons for LBJ were almost at their maximum, expect KD to get ethered if they don't find a way to pull this out tonight.

Maybe Memphis is just the better team (like the Celtics were), I didn't think so coming into this series (I thought KD's greatness could overcome like I thought LBJ would in 2010), but they definitely seem more well rounded. Just crazy to think how mirrored KD's and LBJ's careers are to this point.

Dude. Lebron was playing with ______ as the teams second best player. KD got Westbrook and Ibaka. Not to mention that Celtics team had far more talent than the Cavs team and were a Perkins injury away from winning a ship. Lebron played well for most of that series. KD hasn't played well at all this series and looks straight up disengaged. Like Lebron in the 2011 finals.

It's not about the headlines. It's about the headlines plus his silly fans who don't see the obvious flaws in the Thunder's approach. The talent is there by far. The approach and coaching isn't. and I will never hold back on Russ's effect.

I want yall to just go look at shot attempts per game over the course of KD and Russ's career together. both for the playoffs and regular season. then correlate that to wins and let me know how you feel

umm... tony allen played 18 minutes in the 08 finals

Revisionist history  Tony Allen was no factor. James Posey and the Celtics collective defense to wall off Kobe like they did to LBJ for so many years in CLE was the reason along with having Vlad in the starting lineup was why they won that series. Bean still avg 26 ppg.

So, if Tony Allen was guarding Carmelo in a series and Melo ******* the bed and the Knicks were down 3-2 in a series as favorites. Would some people still be protecting Melo?

What about Lebron?

melo could be averaging 35 ppg on 45% shooting and people would be putting all the blame on him

C'mon bhz...you know Melo is not even a star level player. Horrible comparison.

Not saying KD is immune to criticism but I'd rather give Memphis credit rather than just hold the flame at the feet of Russ and/or KD. I mean cmon, "Mr Unreliable" on the front page is ridiculous. Who cares what the article is actually about. That's an insulting headline.

Brooks should get blame as well, but man Memphis is just abt the best 7th seed ever
