Trading Melo is not the smart move. Atleast right now its not. Season is still early and trading your best player is never the answer.

Unless we get 2 top 10 picks for him, or a top 5 pick and an all star, I am not trading Melo. Not yet.
What if this continues, and I have a feeling it will. And he walks for nothing? Then how will management feel? Him talking about opting out this early was dumb, but reading between the lines, it's his way of telling management he needs a better team around him. We know he can make more money by doing it, but if your sole intention is to resign with the Knicks, he could have said nothing until the season was over, opted out, and signed with the Knicks. No hassle, no distraction, nothing. That whole statement of wanting to be entertained as a free agent is a slippery slope. If he doesn't see this current roster getting any better, he'd definitely take a hard look at another team for a little less money, but a better chance at winning.

Put HIbbert on the Rockers instead of D12 and they probably be a better and  harder team to beat
 maybe if they only had to play Miami.

Against the other good teams with size, Hibbert isn't reliable.

He just had 8 points against CHI last week, had 8 points against Drummond & Monroe last week, shot 41% against BKN last night. He failed to score in double digits in 3 of the six games against the Knicks in the 2nd round last year.

To be fair, his scoring is the bonus of his game. His primary responsibility is to rebound and block and alter shots, which he has gotten better at. If he can score effectively, that is just gravy. He was so limited offensively coming out of college and he's still working on it.

I wholeheartedly agree with that, but my mans quote included this nugget:

You can't rely on Howard to be a low post scorer dude. He sucks.
And then he brings up Hibbert.

His responsibility is to play defense block shots and rebound. Sans blocking shots Dwight does the others better

Before the playoff series against Miami, hibbert was just an average big man. Abusing udonis haslem, chris bosh, Joel Anthony and chris anderson, elevated him to superstar status for y'all

If Cousins actually plays some defense this year he may enter the convo but until then naw.

^Basically. Hibbert was practically invisible for years before those two playoff series. Howard is invisible when he's not on the court due to early foul trouble.

Hibbert isnt a 4th quarter reliability like Howard though. You can almost determine the outcome of a game by putting D12 on the freethrow. If you say Hibbert isn't a reliable option against other good teams with size then how did Howard do against good teams with good size? lol I rather have Hibbert over Dwight. At least i know HIbbert will give Miami problem. Dwight couldnt even score on Haslem and Birdman lol. Actually he couldnt score on Blake Griffin and Deandre lol. He's a bum i'm telling ya. You saw what they did to him lol

Where we really lost was signing Amare. 1 good year in exchange for 4 absolutely terrible ones :smh:.

That 1 signing killed our flexibility for half a decade.

Yep I love Amare but his contract, injuries and subsequent decline has buried the Knicks organization. They could have brought in a K Love, Rondo etc with ease without Amare still getting 20 mill a year for playing 30 games at 15-20 mins per

Yeah dwight has to be the most unreliable top 5 center

His defensive effort is non-existant and his offensive output isn't enough to offset that... I'd still rather have Dwight

Ehh..agree to disagree.

I'll just say this. I rather deal with below avg defense than have my "superstar" literally being the biggest liability on the court at the end of the game.

Dwight literally lost that game vs. the Lakers cuz he can't buy a free throw. and his defensive output did not even slightly offset that.

How so?

Because he doesn't play on a big market team?

LMAO at all the people saying Cousins does nothing on Defense. clearly you never watch him play.  he takes a crazy amount of charges (i believe he led the entire league in charges drawn last season) and Dwight is averaging .2 blocks per game more than Cousins this year.  is that .2 really worth it when Cousins is 10 times the player Dwight is on the offensive side?

I agree. His offense is so much better than any other center's besides Brook Lopez. His defense isn't that good, but his offensive skillset is so good that you have to weigh that in more. Derrick Rose isn't a traditional point guard, because he's a score first guard, but he won MVP even though other point guards assist more. You don't have to follow the tradtional role for your position as well as everyone else in order to be great. You just have to be damn good at something, and that's offense with Cousins.
