Edit. Just realized Melo is the only one ringless out of the 5.
I think another reason why Melo hasn't won is because the lack of great teammates too. I don't ever think "championship" when I look at past teams the Nuggets put together. Even their 09 WCF run was with Billups, Smith, Kenyon and Nene.

Although I like Melo and his game at times, he does have that can't win stigma. I'm sure if he had better support in the playoffs he can take a team far. He's had some incredible playoff performances. When Melo goes into ball hog, shoot 30 shots a night Melo I can see why he gets the hate.

Not sure if sarcasm or not.

Drafted Prince the year before ( SF who fit their system )

Rip in his prime.

Darko was the talented 7 footer who had as much upside as anyone, Larry brown ruined him.

Larry brown saw he was trash so they picked up sheed

Larry Brown also cost us a Gold medal

Big men often take time to develop in the NBA, it's not easy to go from sheer dominating cause of size / athleticism in college / over seas to play big man in the NBA where skill and precision is needed.

Not to mention Larry Brown hates rookies, it's noted throughout his coaching career.

Darko was nothing special, nba "experts"/scouts took a L with that one and they do 70% of the time with these mock drafts

Beasley finished with a highly efficient 19... the way Rose is playing we might have to revisit the Bulls pick

Exum is one of the most impressive guards I've seen as a prospect, I think he has franchise player potential. He's going to be a wildcard in the draft because he's not going to play in college, but whenever he's played against guys in his class he dominates.

I watched Exum dominate in the U18 Oly games. I think he's the best foreign prospect in a minute, dude was killing it.

If you guys want to see why Darko was a highly touted prospect, look at this video of him playing against Argentina in the FIBA World Championship. Argentina's team had more than a couple NBA players including Scola, Oberto, and Delfino. 7'1 with great shot blocking instinct. High release jump shot. Great court vision. Good touch inside.

Of course, his bad attitude had as much to do with his failure as Larry Brown did but knowing that he was an immature 18 year old who NEVER produced on any level, he needed to be put in a great situation. An old school coach who hates rookies and wanted him to play like Bill Russell, on a team with championship aspirations, was not that situation. He ended up bulking up too much losing the speed that made him an incredible 7 foot prospect. He got lazy and stopped working on his jump shot. He smoked too much and could never get his conditioning up to acceptable levels.

I still don't think scouts were wrong about Darko at the time but he needed playing time immediately and should've been in a rebuilding situation.
