But they rolled out a whole campaign to him to last summer about why they wanted him...and he went there because they gave him the chance to be a starter. He has a right to want out.

Call him a diva...but what player in his shoes WOULDN'T do the same thing?

Before someone says Harrison Barnes....that doesn't count. He's still paying dues.
I understand that.. and I respect that he wants to be the starter, but he is not starting over dwight and obviously the twin towers experiment aint working out. But as a basketball player, you have to do your job in order for the TEAM to succeed.. If it means coming off the bench to spare Dwight and win games, I don't see why he is whining so much.
Every team has players who are unhappy about minutes or touches, gms know that when they sign people. Its on the coach and team leaders (harden? Dwight?) To get these players to buy into the teams vision and take a lesser role for the good of the team

well your ppl swindled him from the bulls when he was a backup & cool with it...

paid him starter money & he started all last season....

would you want some new guy coming in & making you a runner up to the job you were brought in to do
No definitely not. But I'd want to win a championship and dethrone the heat, and if it means coming off the bench, then Im all for it. Mchale said it best too, "last time I checked, Omer isn't the general manager."

If this whole "twin towers" thing actually worked, there wouldn't be a problem, and everybody would be happy. But instead, it doesn't work efficiently enough, on top of McHale not making rotations correctly and not making half time adjustments. He's a great personality, but a terrible coach. Never seen someone as lackadaisical as him. He only played 7 guys against the Sixers (including starters with heavy minutes). Pretty sure if Harden wasn't able to play against NY, he would've done the same. Sure, the players need to play better (including Asik), but McHale is a huge problem with this team.
This. If SVG were to be had, I wouldn't oppose

also have JVG deal with the defense and we're set

What the hell, how did Mchale say it best?

The quote you provided was nothing but your average Mike D'Antoni empty, pointless, a lot to be desired statement.

cant have it all asik aint monta

you either put up with it or you dont ...clearly asik aint gonna take it & i cant be mad at him ... the rockets made getting him a "show" so to say & now that there's a slightly bigger show in town hes 2nd fiddle along with not starting anymore ...

Something decent and a 1st rounder are completely different though.

I mess with Turner but there's a lot of cats like him that put up numbers on garbage squads, get moved to an average team, and go right back to the mediocre game they exuded before. If he had to be traded today, an NBA GM could easily use that as leverage to only give up an expiring contract an a 2nd rounder for him.

An expiring contract and 2nd rounder? And this isn't some bum team at the moment. They're actually winning games and beating playoff teams with Turner as the go-to guy.

Again, I rock with Turner... but we're only a couple weeks in, wait for the come down (say X-Mas), then we'll see what these 76ers/Turner is really about.
plus with the 2014 draft expected to be as good as it is, and Turner himself coming out and saying he is balling out for a contract (classic contract year ho potentially), since he will enter restricted free agency after this season, a team would be silly to give assets plus a draft pick to rent him for the rest of this yr and potentially lose him anyways or have to overpay him. Then summer comes and you can end up without Turner or a pick in this coveted draft.

Well, somebody probably will but I can understand why some people wouldn't, especially teams with cheap ownership

I still like Asik. I can understand his frustration. I'm sure we'll trade him eventually when the right deal comes along. we've just been playing ****** as a team so that makes everything worse.

winning (almost) always solves everything.

Asik isn't some scrub they went out and signed for the minimum to fill out the bench. Not everyone is gonna be happy sacrificing everything they're good at, their playing time, their role just to "be along for the ride," especially when they were probably told something different when they signed a big, long-term contract to come to the team.

Dwight struggling in the post after being coached by both Pat Ewing and Hakeem. IF he can't improve with McHale as his coach, I just don't know what to tell you. It's going to be strange to think that he plateaued much earlier than people thought. Take him out of the P n' R or getting points off of putbacks, he has next to nothing in his arsenal. :smh:

^^just rebounding and blocking shots, so yeah you're pretty much right. but those type of guys don't get 88 million dollars to do that...

My man asik smh. Okc might as well let lamb come to the Lakers and reach his potential

asik's minutes had been cut about 10 per game from last season. fact is, he just isn't as good as dwight. not nearly. he can be a very valuable player if he accepted his role, but he won't. i understand he's upset, but it shows little professionalism. thanks for one good year bud, hope we get something valuable back for you

this has been the case for 10 years though. and yet, people have yet to be able to stop him from PnR and putbacks. at some point he has to get credit for what he's able to do.

I read that and thought that Lakers fans probably had the same sentiments towards Dwight at some point

He is what he is offensively. Last night was an embarrassment. Made Bargnani look like Bill Russell. :smh:

Personally, I think he's plateaued. He's been the best 5 in the NBA for a while and will most likely be a HOFer. Partially b/c it's a weak position during his time in the league. However, for a guy like Dwight, can you say that he's really elevated his game?

This.. Howard's impact on the defensive end is more important than his offense (his predictable offense)
Although, it would be nice if he has a few go-to moves in the post and shot the ball over 55% from the ft line |I

i can honestly say on the offensive end he has failed to elevate his game. that will forever be the flaw on his resume. with that being said, he's 10 years in. at some point we have to stop expecting him to turn into hakeem on the block. he is what he is. a dominant defensive center, a rebounding machine, and a guy who gets you lots of easy garbage buckets with effort on the offensive end.

We all know this, no different then MDA used to drop his go to line when he coached the Knicks;

"Tonight, we lost because we didn't score more points than the _____"

Yeah... no sh*t, how about you let the world know how you plan on fixing the issue or don't speak on it at all.
These coaches out here slick trollin' and sometimes I don't appreciate it
.

shut up.

Yea, I see what he was trying to say, but McHale and Dan Tony's statements have no type of comparison to make anything of.

he is who he is but he cant even elevate his game a little bit after working with notable big men?

he has shown flashes of being capable of executing some moves here and there, but i just feel like it never sticks
