Where were you after his 12 point, 21% shooting performance against Chicago?

I said he couldn't keep up his current 3 ball accuracy, and he hasn't.

I said he couldn't keep up his current volume/efficiency combo, & he hasn't.

Wasn't like I was calling him trash  .

To be fair, even though his 3 ball has come back to earth he's still maintained good volume by managing to get to the line at a good rate.

even as this was developing in the thread, i agreed that his output was high. so we agreed we were maybe arguing over semantics. But even then I said your opening statement was what was being honed on. That statement was more telling than these numbers and percentages boys keep throwing around. I don't really feed into all the stats that heavy or worry about game for game. I'm still focusing on the og statement about him not being able to score at a high rate and lock up, which i think is becoming more and more absurd, still.
So then define "high rate?"

Because in both of my posts that you've quoted I said he couldn't do 2 things that he was currently doing:

Shoot 45% from 3.

Average 25+ ppg.

And, as I expected, he has not.

So I'm not sure where the issue lies.

he saved john walls career

Go check his numbers playing with Wall and without Wall last season.

Thanks.

just when the chris paul hate has died down.. now espn is talking about him being better than magic

It's kinda true though.

Chris Paul was All-Defensive First Team 3 times. Magic zero.

Steals Leader

Chris Paul - 5

Magic - 2

ROY - Chris Paul. Magic no!

high rate = 24.4

I'd even be ok with a couple off that considering how much he's relied on to play defense. but don't duck under the semantics again bro. We're talking about your OG statement:

I can't start a franchise with a guy who can't get me 25+ ppg in the playoffs nor lockdown/slowdown the best player on the best team in the league (who plays SF).

Give me Harden.

After converting an "and one" late in the fourth quarter against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night, Chris Paul surpassed Magic Johnson on a dusty page in the record books. With 20 points and 11 assists, Paul registered a double-double for the 12th straight game to start the season, breaking Johnson's record, set in 1990-91.

Get used to hearing Paul displacing Johnson's standing in history, because Paul already is on pace to be the best point guard to ever step foot in the league. At least he is statistically. The sad thing is that almost no one even realizes this is happening.

I know what you're thinking: "Better than Magic? Paul has never even been to the NBA Finals. He's never even won an MVP. How dare you stomp on Magic's legacy!"

Stomp on this: Paul has the highest player efficiency rating of any point guard in history (25.6) and considerably higher than Johnson (23.5). And if you look at win shares, which estimates the number of wins a player contributes to the bottom line, it tells the same story. Just 12 games into his ninth season, Paul already has more career win shares than Johnson had through nine seasons.

If we take away team accolades so far in his career Chris Paul as an individual player has been better than Magic all while playing with far less talent.

Magic never had a season close to Chris Paul in 08-09 where he had a 30.0 PER, highest Magic ever got to was 27 which CP3 has had on 3 occasions and this season will probably make it 4. He's a better defender than Magic too, only thing I would give Magic the edge on is rebounding but he's 6'9 and CP3 is barely 6 feet.

I said 25+, he isn't at 25+. And when the season ends in 70 games from now he's not gonna be at 24 either.

I never said he couldn't give you good volume, I said he couldn't go from never averaging 20 over an entire season to giving you 25+ (elite volume) all in one season.

In the end, he'll settle in right around 20-21. Good volume, but not anywhere close to what he was putting up when I made that post.

still evading your og statement or you're smoking dope to take Harden over him when Harden is Ole'ing on defense, but just to entertain the convo: his scoring ain't going nowhere bruh. he's averaging 18 shots a game, 6- 3 pointers a game. lol, where is the scoring for Indy gonna come from?
