In year 2, You're gonna have Kobe at 25 mil, Melo at 23.

That's 48 mil, including any draft picks you're at 50.

The cap has been at 57-58 mil since 09

So you'll be lucky if you even have 10 mil in cap room when you're trying to get that 2nd max guy.

The team will not be able to re-load until Kobe retires

The cap for next year is expected to be 62.1 mil. Why you usin that 57-58 number from 2009 for?

Kobe at 25, player X at 22 leaves 15+ for a 3rd "max"

The plan was always to have 3 max deals. Dwight + 2014+2015.

The Rockets still want to add one more max to Dwight + Harden

The Heat pulled their 3 max guys, minus a mil here or there.


So I'm not sure why you think it's suddenly not possible.

ALL of those guys were making $14 mil in year 1 of those deals. That would be a substantial paycut for a guy like Melo.
