I was reading the Daily Dime on ESPN about the Cavs/Heat game last night. It was a Brian Windhorst write-up. That being said, why does the media make so many excuses for Irving? Why is he being treated w/ kid gloves? **** is crazy...

He often plays frustrated. He's been forcing shots when he's covered and he missed shots when he's open. He's developed a habit of dominating the ball, not because he's selfish, but because he's doesn't seem to trust his teammates at times.

Any other player would be raked over the coals. Makes me wonder if there is some validity to Dion Waiters' claims.

i agree with there must be something with Waiters claims. If anyone caught the game when Kyrie made a pass to Waiters and he took a three you could see him saying something to him. Must be a elephant in the room situation in the locker room, practice, team flights, etc. Especially now that it is out they don't get along and that there are rumors about a fight. Even though ESPN said it wasn't true, as far as the fight goes and others have posted it as well. But something happened...

The whole "not trusting teammates" line is usually reserved for guys like Kobe. But Kobe has the hardware and rep to back it up. Irving, while a VERY promising young player, is still very green and has a God-awful winning %. At some point, the finger needs to be pointed at him by the media.

FF - in Cleveland, are there people (in the media) who criticize his game?

Waiters claim is irrelevant because he stinks even more.

The reality Mike Brown has improved the defense at the expense of the offense, he can't coach offense to save his life, he has failed to improve at all as coach basically since he first got in the league. He is basically bizzaro Mike D'antoni.

he needs to bring this guy back.

Great coaches change and adapt, Look how drastically the spurs offense evolved, look at the way Spolstra evolved as an offensive coach.

Basically Kobe's the exception to a lot of rules we hold other people to, because he's one of the best and hardest working players ever.  And even HE oversteps the line of selfishness to an unacceptable level on many occasions.  Why any other player would think they can emulate Kobe's style of play is beyond me.

I agree completely about Kyrie, it's his job to make his teammates better and he deserves a huge amount of blame.  If he wants to grow, Mike Brown needs to sit down with him and ask him if he has a plan to get Tristan Thompson better shots, for example.  He's the leader and the PG of the team.

I might gel flamed for this, but I think Terrence Jones has the most upside among all bigs, not named Anthony Davis.. Dude reminds me of Lamar Odom

Irving is treated with kid gloves because a good guy star after lebron took a public dump on Cleveland would be a good feelings story for the media. How are you guys not familiar with the process already

you would think after they coddled LeBron (moving the practice closer to his house, giving his buddies jobs and letting them be on the team plane. etc not that they are doing this with Kyrie, but they are giving him preferential treatment) that they wouldn't do it again. But, with this years #1, not panning out, they almost have to do it and they are setting themselves up for the same thing again. And that picture above with Mike Brown sitting next to the assistant drawing up the play is pitiful. Like how do you reach the HIGHEST level of coaching and not know any offense. Imagine the conversations LeBron and company were having about that type of stuff, I bet it was crazy...

Who do yall want kyrie to pass it to, waiters doesnt care anymore since he lost his spot as the starting sg,bynum is a shell, tristan deserves the deandre treatment, and jack is a chucker just like kyrie

if i could swap rosters with the knicks i would do it in a heart beat, that knicks roster would have 0 wins in the west and we would have jabari locked up by all star break

lakers are 11th in the west and tied for 3rd in the east, im pretty sure my high school JV team could replace an east coast team and the fans wouldnt even notice

So in your opinion star players shouldn't pass except to other star players?

Why are you so in love with basketball selfishness

Irving should prob play the two, he reminds me of AI rookie season. Top of the key lots of dribbling, teammates on the wing watching. He doesn't give teammates involved at all. As a point guard u should put AV TT and the rookie Bennett in positions to score.

I was all on this guy when I saw him om youtube with the uncle drew and the highlights, but if you watch him play in real games he looks like ur basic street ball player. He obviously grew up in the And1 era lol

Raps under .500 and still at the top

If they get homecourt in the playoffs

  The Atlantic is so sad...

Plus that would knock the Raps out of the lottery.

This might be the greatest tanking competition of all time.  If you aren't in the .300 range you gonna make the playoffs.

Raps under .500 and still at the top
If they get homecourt in the playoffs :pimp:

Even if they get a top 4 seed due to winning the Atlantic, if their match up ends up with the better regular season record, then raps still wouldn't have homecourt. But the East being how it is this season, wouldn't surprise me if a 30 win team made the playoffs :x

Waiters looked like his head was completely out of that game last night. Confidence looked deflated. The trade rumors/whatever's going on in Cleveland are definitely taking a toll on him.

Meanwhile in the west.... ...

Well on the plus side, you could be a decent team in the West and still make the draft lottery.  Which we know is the ultimate goal.

Utah next year

BTW, props to the Bucks for FINALLY tanking in the best possible year, which their fans have been begging them to do for like a decade.
