How about we say he's inexperiened AND not very smart? There's a difference between basketball IQ (being a floor general, running the offense, etc.) and IQ in general. Sure he had lots of the former, I respect that, but please tell why you guys think he's so smart.

he should be working on the bench under the assistants, could he be a good/decent coach in the future? definitely but being thrown into the head coach position without sitting on the bench and learning a single thing is stupid.

Wow...after watching that Nets/Knicks game all I can say is that Avery Johnson and Lawrence Frank are somewhere laughing their ***** off.
Say what you want about Avery; he rescued Blatche's career and had that team playing hard and competing at least. These ninja's playing like they in the rec league on the weekend; and Kidds five head is over there doing NOTHING! No adjustments no time outs to end runs...cat is over there dazed and confused.

Well we will now truly see what Kidd can do as coach. Make no mistake, Lawrence Frank was for all intents and purposes the coach until Kidd got upset and gave him the boot. I saw it from when they were showing practices at the beginning of training camp. If you didn't know who was the coach, you'd swear they hired Frank back. He jumped into coaching cold. He didn't even have the advantage of watching for some years like Mark Jackson did. That's hard. When he gets it together, I think he'd be a good coach.
