Bulls came out as the winners in the trade. They save money and still have an amnesty left for Boozer.

They still need to clear up some more cap space for Melo though.

[thread="571782"] [/thread]
why the hell would the Bulls want to sign him doe? Makes no sense....he isn't going to be bringing much to the table and Derrick Rose probably won't ever be the same again, so the Bulls will look like the Knicks this season.
Oh. So the Bulls will be terrible by adding Carmelo Anthony, a No. 1 option that team has desperately needed since Jordan retired. Cool.

The fact that Deng wanted 13-14 mil per season was
sick.gif
The Bulls had to move in a different direction once Deng declined the Bulls offer. The Bulls seized the opportunity to free up cap space while getting something in return, and long term was the right move. Deng was gonna walk at years end.

I never liked Deng's game but who is gonna play sf for the Bulls now?
Jimmy Butler plays the 2 so its gonna have to be Dunleavy or Snell I guess.

Exactly how they played when Lou was out by committee. Dunleavy is a natural 3 and Snell is a cross between a 2 and 3.

The Bulls know they will be short on talent the rest of the way this season and will be a potential lottery team in next years draft. I think the move pretty much said the Bulls don't have much faith in the current core of players, and will look to build a younger core of players to compete for the long term.

Where is the trade deadline thread? :nerd:
[thread="571782"]HAHA[/thread]

[thread="571782"]anyways Melo isn't worth more than 15 Million, he is like Rudy Gay. I can't believe I was reading rumors the Clips were willing to offer Blake Griffin just to get him. [/thread]

So ppl like you are still alive and kicking.

Don't see why the Bulls would go for it unless they REALLY want to blow it up, but Perk + Thabo (and picks) for Joakim Noah also works.

@KendrickPerkins Hey I didn't say they should DO it. I just said it works...

Perkins deleted his "hahaha" response though...

define number 1 option? And if Rose is back to 100% he will be the player with the ball in his hands down the line....Melo ain't ish and you NT dat love him need a reality check...from the threads and post from back in the day when y'all was claiming he was on Lebron James level, and a couple of season ago when y'all was saying he was better than Durant.

Like I said many times before, Melo is just another Rudy Gay with HYPE.
u think i give a **** if this dude is scoring 25PPG while he team sucks?

me a troll cause i'm kickin facts right?

You Melo fan boys are funny. What kind of offense does Melo bring to the table when he is shooting terribly? please explain this to me and all the other people that claim Melo is still the best offensive player in the league

Y'all gotta stop feeding the trolls man lol. Melo to the Bulls would be a great addition.

Agreed.

I also think that Thibs would demand a competent defensive effort out of him every night. If anything, the overall team defense would help mask some of his liabilities on that end of the floor. Melo on the Bulls would be great for both parties.

*If Melo is shooting terribly, he'd have Rose as a bailout.

Not like the Bulls offense with Rose could get any more stagnant and one dimensional anyway ...

Melo plays more defense than he gets credit for. He's not a revolving door like people like to pretend he is. He's decent 1v1. His problem is weak side help and transition defense. Both things Thibs can mask. He'll never be a great defender but he can definitely go from decent to solid on the Bulls. Watching guards reek havoc on the Knicks and expecting better defensive help from Melo has been jokes this year, to say the least.

Finally news on Ryan Anderson. Out indefinitely with a herniated disk.

So...

His girlfriend kills herself because of him over the summer, he has a chip fracture in his foot that delays the start of his season, and now this. :smh:

why did his gf kill herself over him?

Crazy that Bynum was considered a top 5 center just two years ago now he's reduced to this.

Getting rid of Deng was necessary, but I'll miss the guy. A true class act.

In theory the ball movement should have improved when Melo missed those 3 games this year. That ball stopper, that cancer was removed, but did the Knicks win games and look exciting on offense? No, they played ****tier than they've played all year.

Melo takes the Bulls to the Finals pending they hold onto Joakim Noah. Chicago would be stupid to trade him without getting a lottery pick in return.

He can create his own shot. The guy has a decent jumper and also can drive to the rack. He's a decent rebounder. These are all things that the Bulls could use so yeah I definitely wouldn't mind having Melo or even a player of the caliber.
