D Wade taking another game off? :smh:
This puts him on pace for 60 games out of 82. So he misses over a quarter of the season for "rest"

With all that "rest" he better give Miami substantially more than the 16 ppg he gave them in last year's playoffs.

I need Anthony Davis to stop having it all

It's going to be a zoo when he becomes a free agent after his rookie contract is up
he'll be restricted. Can't imagine that he won't be matched. He'll be unrestricted somewhere around 2021

Thing is, all his rest is putting added minutes/stress on LeBron.

Dude played 40+ minutes the other night, it's January.

I know they are nursing Wade along, but if Bron starts to show any hint of fatigue against Indy in late May, that's a problem.

I hate this, Player's union should have addressed this in the CBA. Rookies should be unrestricted as soon as their first contract expires. A guy can end up spending his prime years player for the inept franchise who drafted him through no fault of his own. This is a player's league yet the owners get so much leeway out here it's disgusting.
But at the same time, those players would almost always leave that franchise, giving them next to chance to build and become a potential contender. The matching clause alleviates both of those concerns as best as it can. If they want him they'll match, if they dont they wont. Its the best solution

Yep. Spo has him at 40 a night this month. Not good at all.

It also doesn't give a team that much incentive to improve their squad if they have a franchise guy locked up and yea it's the best solution for the team that drafted him but its ridiculous for the player, look at the Eric Gordon situation PHX a few years back. The matching clause does absolutely nothing for the player but let him know his market value, idk where else in business you are still obligated to sign back with your employer after your contract has expired and you have another offer from elsewhere.

I feel like when i watch Anthony Davis play (as i am today) i always feel like he just is not as good as the numbers would suggest, or as people on here hype him up to be.  his shot-blocking cannot be argued, but other than that...

Don't get me wrong i think he is extremely good and could potentially be a big time star, but right now im just not seeing the eye to eye with the people calling him the "best PF in the league" or the "best big man in the league" or "first team All-NBA"

For example, i just dont see how could people put this guy on LMA's level as of right now.
Well that's because he isn't a first team all NBA player yet, and he isn't on LMA's level

he's not the best big in the league yet nor is he the best 4 man.

However, his production and strengths alone are already at an All Star level and he's in his second season. That's incredible. He has room to grow, and is already putting up all star numbers.

He has some ways to go as far as being able to be the cornerstone of a franchise offensively ala tim duncan or KG, but defensively he can be a franchise changer and already has a solid enough game offensively to be a 20 ppg scorer without a real post up game.

In essence, what he's doing as a sophomore in the league suggest that his ceiling is through the roof (And I hate the words ceiling, pottential, etc.

) and it also suggest that he can be a franchise changer very soon.
Can't disagree with any of that.

I think that the team that drafted him should be provided that benefit. They didnt draft a guy just so he can leave in 4 years and then theyre stuck with nothing and had no say in the matter. Plus the player gets his money, so at least theyre still benefiting. Its better than taking all of the power out of the teams hands. We'd have teams Drafting top 3 picks and losing them every four years.

Wade isn't the one holding himself out its spolstra and the coaching staff holding him out back to back games.

Nah D Wade himself has said that it's a game to game thing and some games he doesn't feel as well as others to which he would then consult with Spo and the staff and from that, they sit him out.

He's not healthy to the point where he could play, and it's just the coaches sitting him out to preserve him IMO. If that were the case, then he wouldn't be sitting out so often.

They pretty much said at the beginning if the year that he wasn't playing back to backs to preserve him which is pretty much all he misses. He hasn't really missed any games that there was a break in between. Your right tho with the other games that aren't back to backs with a break in between he'll Let the coaching staff know that His knees aren't feeling good and he'll sit out. Which I'm fine with as long as it helps him come playoff time

But this heat defense is just bad right now.

Heat losing right after snapping 3 game losing streak. Means nothing for the Heat but means everything for KD's MVP chances.

NBA so freaking random this year. The games you assume will be low scoring is high and vice versa. Sucks for betting on scores/production of players

anyone think all this partying is catching up with the heat??? they look way off tonight...

I think the 3 straight Finals runs catches up to them a lot more than partying.

It's damn near impossible to make a 4th straight run, they're attempting to do it this year. But lookin like they'll need to go thru a younger Indy to do so.

D Wade can't possibly be missing this many games due to "rest" IMO. There's more to it than that. It's gotta be.

They've played Atlanta 3 times, he's missed all of them, and NONE were on a back to back. The games against the kings bulls & pistons weren't either. And he even sat out BOTH games on a back-to-back against Atlanta & Orlando. It's a little more to it than just back to backs
