He was injured from the summer up until last month, so he missed SL, preseason etc which threw off his development. And he's behind two solid SFs having career years (Trevor Ariza and Martell Webster) so there's really no need to rush him into the lineup right away.

I don't expect much from him this year, he's probably not gonna get enough minutes to develop until next season if/when Ariza leaves.

melo has every offensive skill KD has but also has post game that KD doesnt . melo doesnt have a team full of hustle players and a team designed on him 7 years now . melo doesnt even get 70% of the calls durant is getin and melo doesnt average 20 FTs per game. performances like today and the 40 points in 19 mins in the previous olympics are just memorable

Durant averages 10 fta and Carmelo averages 7. That's not a world of difference and you can argue that Durant is better at drawing calls because he's a smarter scorer.

Dont sit here and act like Durant is LEbron in terms of passing. 5 assist dont mean your a point foward. KD is a scorer and that is what he is. Melo is the same thing, but Melo has more ways to score.

It's easy to sit here and make claims like Melo has everything KD has but the truth is Durant's jumper>Melo's jumper. The advanced stats prove it and so does basic observation.

I dont wanna take away from what Melo did tonight. He's obviously one of the best scorers in the league.

KD's a better shooter AND finisher at the rim. Melo's supposed "advantage" in the low post is overblown and overruled by KD being a better shooter and finisher. Not to mention KD does work from the post as well, if you actually watch. KD also has better handles and is better at taking the defender off the dribble than Melo and he doesn't have to settle for triple threat jumpers because he doesn't have an angle.

When they get hot though they're both unstoppable. The funny thing about is that they are the same type of unstoppable. The type of unstoppable where they can pull up from anywhere and it's in there.

Melo used to be the best scorer in the league. That honor goes to KD now.

Sure, Melo has a post up game, but Durant gets to the line a lot more. To me that means much more.

Melo doesn't attack the basket though. In the long run this might help Melo stay in the league, but it's not helping his team right now. He needs to either "mix" it up on offense, or be a lot more efficient with his shot selection--Tough to do that though, with the team he has.
