The Thunder presently do have a better team than the Heat. Lebron James was really great last night, but wasn't all world which is what he's going to have to be in order for the Heat to 3peat.

They've got Bosh, and Bron. Literally, at the moment that's all you can count on from the Heat night in and night out which through an 82 game season is good enough. But the playoffs? Another story.

Or that Kobe Bryant isn't there forcing up shot after shot and dominating the ball. Not hating on Kobe at all, but without him playing anyone can see Gasol has more opportunities to flourish.

Regardless, it's obvious that the notion that he can't excel under D'antoni has been greatly exaggerated as well as his Demise. From the looks of it, playing through Gasol could still work with a more competent supporting cast.

But I do agree with you though, in that this team is forced to go through Gasol, which allows us to really see how great of a player he still is. The supporting cast just sucks.

SMH at Kyrie lying to the kids.. :smh:

And so it begins...Imagine if he does walk? :wow: That would be unprecedented
Illegal would be the right word. He literally cannot walk because he is a restricted free agent.

1st round picks are shackled to the team that drafted them for the first 7-9 years of their career.

Now a guy like Lance can walk cause he was picked in round 2, so they're unrestricted after their rookie deal expires.

If this was a seven game series, OKC would have a guy named Russell Westbrook in the lineup..

Ok. I still don't see them shooting 60% from three and Miami shooting 16%.
They won't need to. All last night's game showed is that OKCs roleplayers are ready to give Durant the help he needs. Add a top 3 point guard to the mix and how is Miami "easily" beating OKC in a seven game series? Stop it

aka he washed we dont need em

^he can just play out his contract and be unrestricted after
So he would still have, at least, 3 more years in CLE after next season.

So his departure from CLE via free agency is at least 4 years from now.

statistically, pau has played better as the second option. but the last time he was the second option was when phil was coach. at the start of the season, he had the opportunities but rarely executed. he has been playing well the last 2-3 weeks tho which should drive his value back up :nerd:

The "it was just one game" talk is funny. If Mia won everyone would say OKC sucks. Yes it was just one game, the heat were trying, they were up 18 and were cheering, then they got whooped on by fisher and their crowd ditched them

And? You called the game a blowout and almost verbatim said that OKC is never and will never get over Miami and that their best hope is to pray for Indy to knock them out. Another prime example of a roller coaster of emotions and statements in not even a 24 hour span. Yea, some people in here are brushing it off after one game. You brushed your team off after barely one QUARTER of play.

I didn't say it would be easy. I said I would have no problem taking them if I were betting. You bet on those role players. I would bet that they wouldn't sniff 60% from three.

Once they pick up his QO, I'm pretty sure that he's a FA after that...however, he won't make as much on a max deal elsewhere in the league as he could w/ the Cavs.

He's not tied to the team for 7-9 years, bro

Subtract the 5 minutes Perkins plays and OKC wins 110-80.

i wouldn't say it's illegal. but from my understanding, can't rookies just let their deals expire? can they decline the qualifying offer, play out one year of uncertainty then hit free agency as an unrestricted free agent?

Miami, NYC, LA.. he's going to a big market for sure, no doubt in my mind. Not next year, but I could see him forcing a trade him towards the end of his second deal ala D-Will

I've heard stories that Kyrie is a wildboy off the court, he's definitely headed for the big lights

Kyrie is a wildboy off the court?

The lies some of the NTers come up with just to please themselves...

AD? As in Anthony Davis?!? You're breaking my Pelican heart.

Depends on NO's moves but if last summer is any indication idk

These rookies locked up with bottom feeder franchises till their late 20's :smh:

They know damn well Kyrie tryna play with Melo in NY so they can shoot 60 shots a game

I believe this is true.

Okay, what do you see about Miami that is so appealling? Right now, it's Lebron, Bosh, and a bunch of inconsistent bums. You're basically saying you would bet on Wade (lol) and Miami's roleplayers (Beasley lol, Ray Allen loooooooooool) over OKCs roleplayers (Ibaka, Jackson, Lamb, Sefolosha, Adams, etc)? Keep in mind that Miami probably wouldn't have HCA in ECF or Finals..

Unless Westbrook never comes back, I don't see how Miami would be favored over OKC? The Heat have to worry about getting past the Pacers first..

Exactly. If he really wants to leave Cleveland that bad, his options are

1) he can turn down an extension and sign a 1yr qualifying offer, but seeing as he will command the max I highly doubt he will turn down that money

or 2) he can sign the extension, but let it be known that he's going to walk in free agency , which would force the organization's hand to trade him for pieces instead of letting him go for nothing. We've seen it before, that is what Deron Williams did.

Fully agree, the D'Antoni system just doesn't seem to work for him. But if used properly he could still be effective...

But he's been exceptional as of late playing under D'antoni. He's showing that he can still be incredibly effective, almost at an All Star level. It's the fact that he's playing with 11 other bums and loosing that's hiding his exceptional play.

gasol played the best basketball of his life because of kobe and phil, in kobe's 6 games this year all he did was force the ball into pau to get him going. before this recent stretch of good games, paus only bright spot to the season was when kobe was back

The QO only comes into play if he doesn't sign with anyone, either an extension with CLE or an offer sheet from any other team.

A scenario that only happens with guys who can't agree to an extension with their teams & don't like any of the offer sheets they receive from other teams. Basically players who want too much money.

Kyrie will likely get a max contract on the open market, so a QO likely won't come into play for a player of his caliber.
