Possibly lt but how do we know for sure ? Rondo has already gotten over the hump and is a champion. Has already logged legendary performances on the biggst stages. Now hes coming back look GOOD. His jumper has been falling. If he can shoot consistently? He is far and away the best PG in the NBA.

I really wonder if OKC ever considered offing Westbrook + filler for Rondo + Green recently...

The way they are playing without him...

I'm just saying

I can't see that happening. I understand they're playing well now and Kevin has been on a tear, but they also know that the game changes in the playoffs and they will need his firepower if they want to get out of the west.

I agree. Russ is one of my fav players but i still wonder if a PG like Rondo would suit the thunder better overall. But this debate been going on for years now.

Does thunder win a championship with westbrook shooting 18+ shots a game or a PG who controls the game like Rondo
Who has assisted another player more often over the last 3 yrs than Westbrook has KD? This narrative is stupid. Who do you want taking those shots, Collison? Perkins? I thouhgt after last yr's playoffs, people were over that whole thing with Westbrook allegedly not passing to KD enough, but I guess Kd's January bought that debate back into the forefront and from now on, every game Russ plays and KD doesn't score 40 people will be ready to pounce.

Because we watch them play

O word? So hows Russy doing this year?

I remember i was having this convo with yall in 2012 in regards to D Rose and Rondo. Yall said i was CRAZY that i wouldnt trade Rondo for D Rose. Howd that work out for yall? Couple weeks later Rondo is going for 45-10-8 in the ECF  Yall dont remember that tho right?

I love Rondo but I don't see it. The Thunder need scoring help more than they need distribution help. Without WB they are solely dependent on Durant as a scorer down the stretch, you don't want to be the Bulls.

I am sorry but this isnt true. Steph Curry, Chris Paul, and Tony Parker are all better than him.

At the moment? Sure. If Rondo starts shooting consistently, like I just said, then hes a top 5 player period. Yall like to forget :rolleyes Selective memory.

Remember when you called Boston won the 2013 NBA championship? Good times.

Yep i put my money where my mouth is and i was wrong. Whats your point? They were one game away the year prior, thanks to Rondo.

Yall are undervaluing Rondos skillset. Best passer in the league. Best rebounding PG. Triple double threat every single night. IMO plenty of GMs are taking Rondo over Wessy.

Man, Kyrie might be going through the third year slump (which is more common than the sophomore slump) harder than Wall ever did. Kyrie needs to just work and continue to get better in his current situation before he can do damage in another. I think Kyrie's situation on the Cavs is much worse than LeBron's ever was.

triple double threat doesnt always mean the best though....steph curry's 25 & 10 almost automatic per night > .......sorry but i think its steph / russ / cp3 when healthy , kyrie and wall can/will move up also...

Good point.

Rondo is right around 20ppg, 10 assists, 5 rebounds since the start of February since hes gotten his legs back under him. Also shooting 55% from the floor and 40% from 3.

I got NO problem with putting Stephy, Russ, CP3 ahead of Rondo. Thats fine. I just disagree. Apparently some people cant handle that  Not sure why.

i feel you , rondo is good enough to be in the topic of top PG though , that master of none skill set , defense , savvy , iq and hustle is basically what a team NEEDS ouf of their PG ......dont worry homie i didnt forget the celtics lil run a couple years ago , it was more rondo and ray allen then kg and pp lol...

given the hype in this thread you would think he's putting up Wilt 61-62 numbers (50.4ppg 22.9rpg)

Not really. I don't see anyone saying he's the GOAT or putting him in the HOF yet. What I see are some people who used to call him a one-demensional bum admitting they were wrong and the people who knew he was this good all along saying we told you so. Yes, some people are saying he's the best PF in the game, which he arguably has been this season. People are also saying he's an MVP candidate, which is also true. He's way below LeBron and KD as far as that goes, but he definitely should be in the conversation -- right now. Could things change? Sure. But he's not showing any signs of slowing yet. He's on an amazing run and people are just enjoying it. Nothing wrong with that.

I think the people who were wrong about Blake or who just don't like him are just sensitive to the praise he's deservedly getting now.

Rondo and Russell's playing styles are so different it doesn't make much sense to compare them.

It's like comparing Jason Kidd to Allen Iverson. Rondo doesn't really look to score that often while Russell is constantly attacking.

It's not even that rondo can't score. If he couldn't then that's different but he's proven he can. In great amounts if necessary.

He makes a choice not to, to get more assists. Sometimes his insistence on being a pass first type PG is detrimental to the team.

But then again so is russell's attack attack attack mentality. If I was building a team I would take Rondo over Russell each and every single time.

He can run a team better than Russell can and like NooEra said he's a triple-double threat each and every single night.

Russell is athletic and it's fun to watch him chuck shots and dunk seemingly whenever he wants but his basketball IQ simply isn't as high as Rondo's.

Being a better scorer doesn't equal being a better player. If that was the case then KD > Melo > Lebron which we all know is false and only one of those players has a ring.

Hint: It's the more well rounded one who's a triple double threat every night.

Selective memory.
Selective memory about what exactly? We are all aware that Rondo has had big games and that the jumper is improving (SLOWLY) but as it stands now, hes not better than any of those guys and I have seen nothing that would lead me to beleive that he will be in the future.

Wasnt there a Point Guard thread that used to get pretty live?
