It just seems like bashing Scott Brooks is the cool thing to do these days.

He's not a great coach, but he's not nearly as bad as some of you guys make him seem.

Mike Brown is a whole different world of a awful.

how do you continue to play perkins?

reminds me of keith bogans starting for the bulls the year they went to the ECF, next season no one signed him. perk is that bad.

scott brooks aint that bad
but seriously, who is out there that is available would you want to replace him? it's all the same guys.

Thunder are this generations jazz... yeah I know different type of players, but they will never get it done.

the jazz never got it done but stuck together for 20 years

i dont see kd or westbrook staying if they dont win soon (2-3 years)

Adams gives them much better everything when he plays. Hell, I'd even throw Hasheem Thabeet in his position at this point

okc shouldve traded for tyson chandler

are you talking about now?

or when the trade was rescinded?

Looking forward to Clips v. Grizz tonight. Its the first time we've faced Memphis since Blake's been on his scoring run; can't wait to see if he can keep it up against his old nemesis Z-Bo.

I was coming in here to say...this is Blake's chance to prove that he's a much better player and murder ZBo. I don't know if it'll happen, though. I think ZBo still gets in his head.

OKC messed up when they decided to pay Ibaka over Harden.

I like Serge, but they had something special with that trio and they ****** it all up.

That will forever haunt this franchise.

100% true. Nobody will stay in OKC if they don't win it or at least go to the big game again twice.

But let's not act like OKC now isn't a top 3-4team in the NBA now. Perk now being injured is also a plus

actually they were negotiating with both at the same time.. made offers to both at the same time, with the intent being to keep both.. ibaka just accepted his deal

and as with anyone with half a brain who goes into any negotation, they had a walking away point.. with harden they reached that point

the final offer was something like 4 years 54-56 mill.. OKC could only offer 4 years 60 mill.. harden wanted a no trade clause to be included with any deal

He does, at this point. He got destroyed by Hibbert in that playoffs, granted he had a bad back but damn. Chandler would be nice (independent of that contract) for OKC since all we need from a center is o boards, catch and dunks, and catch lobs of Russ/KD penetration; basically what Birdman gives the Heat for a fraction of a fraction of Perkins' cost. I guess you have to give him credit for setting hard screens too. He (Perkins) is also the best at rim defender in the NBA, if you need another example of a stat being so advanced it leaves room for lots of noise. Guys shoot 31% at the rim when Perkins is the defender. If I'm driving to the basket and the only person I see between me and the rim is Perkins, I'm not the least bit worried aobut him blocking my shot or drawing a charge (he does neither) but moreso where is Ibaka, he's probably behind me about to throw my ****, but stats can't quantify for that type of thing.

I love harden but I disagree. Ibaka is putting up stats plus scoring. Reggie Jackson is filling that void well enough. Of course he's nowhere near as good but good enough. OKC needs size, ibaka collision, and Adams can make it happen

Gotcha. I knew they tried to keep them all, but if anything they should've told Ibaka to F off.

Who knows though. Maybe the Thunder win a title before the summer of 2016 comes around. because if they don't we all know y'all will be lotto bound for years.

I'm really curious to see how Blake does tonight against zbo. Hopefully he doesn't let him get in his head or bully him again. Looking forward to a great matchup

actually they should have amnestied perkins.. which would have easily made up the 4-6 mill difference between what they could offer and what they did

but then that means they didnt choose ibaka over harden.. especially since ibaka signed his deal on august 18th 2012

OKC continued to negotiate with harden well into october.. finally trading him october 28th, 2012

OKC needs to cut Perkins after this season and get a decent center, or start Steven Adams more.

Presti will never be lotto bound. If he has to flip KD or Russ to avoid them reaching free agency, he'll get 100 1st rd picks for them and stop gap lesser but comparable players on ending contracts. I'm fine with Ibaka over Harden just because he is so impactful for us on both ends. Elite rim defense and mid range shooting is actually a rare combo, and makes him the perfect 3rd option since he can be so efficient scoring primarily assisted jumpers and won't step on KD/Russ's toes in terms of usage. We got Lamb, Adams (#12 pick in this draft and eventual Perk replacement), a 6.5TPE (from KMart), and still have a Mavs first rd pick albeit protected til like y3k in the deal for Harden which is more than Philly got for Bynum or Iggy, more than Orlando got for Dwight, etc..
chandler might not be what he once was but yall really wouldn't want him over perkins? foh
Not at ~29 mil over the next 2 seasons
