He does, at this point. He got destroyed by Hibbert in that playoffs, granted he had a bad back but damn. Chandler would be nice (independent of that contract) for OKC since all we need from a center is o boards, catch and dunks, and catch lobs of Russ/KD penetration; basically what Birdman gives the Heat for a fraction of a fraction of Perkins' cost. I guess you have to give him credit for setting hard screens too. He (Perkins) is also the best at rim defender in the NBA, if you need another example of a stat being so advanced it leaves room for lots of noise. Guys shoot 31% at the rim when Perkins is the defender. If I'm driving to the basket and the only person I see between me and the rim is Perkins, I'm not the least bit worried aobut him blocking my shot or drawing a charge (he does neither) but moreso where is Ibaka, he's probably behind me about to throw my ****, but stats can't quantify for that type of thing.

*no one cares but*

Stats definitely do quantify that stuff. If you look at something like the attempts at the rim when Ibaka is near vs. when Perkins is near, I'm sure you'd see a giant difference. For example, Hibbert doesn't block that many shots but the paint is a ghost town when he's on the floor. No one's even trying to challenge him.

Man, the bruhs over on The Coli are killing the gif game regarding this KD servant thing

I know, but do you really believe Perkins is the best defender at the rim? How? He doesn't jump or draw charges? I'm sure guys are missing because Ibaka is around but not directly in front of them within a 3 ft radius or whatever this stat requires. And it;s low volume anyways, only 3 attempts per game, because most of the time he isn't even quick enough to be there. If I need a rim defender, Perkins is very low on my list.

Nah, man, Perkins is terrible. Something is skewing that stat. Maybe he's too slow to even contest at the rim so those attempts aren't counted. Or he fouls most of the time. Perk is definitely trash. I was just saying the stats could account for guys being scared to go at Ibaka.

Simmons' podcasts with his buddies are way better than his actual interviews. He does a lot of sucking up a la Rich Eisen.
