3. Bron
4. KD

Just the combinations of their talents (domination w/ size, 7'0ter with shooting touch unmatched, combo of size, speed, and power, 7'0ter with unlimited skills on the offensive end, handles at that size and only continuing to improve)

Great time to be a basketball fan.

If Bron doesn't opt out, Dirk should be the top FA for any team that's one player away, but Cuban isn't letting him leave Dallas. I'd love to replace Pau with him over the next two seasons.

I would put prime T-Mac in that same category

So true, he gets forgotten because of the injuries.

His 4 Orlando years he averaged 28/7/5, real.

Best season he had 32.1/6.5/5.5 and shot 38% from 3 on high volume at 23 years old, KD before KD.

My parents copped me his Authentic and I wore that **** so proudly at every opportunity. laugh.gif

Wish his back held up, my mans health started going downhill at 26. sick.gif

He was never as efficient as KD is though. Even in that 02-03 season he put up those numbers, he took 24 shots/game to do so. KD is avg 32/7.6/5.6 on 51% shooting 40% from 3 and 87% from the line on 21 shots. KD is a legit 7 feet not NT 7'1 like T-Mac was. KD put up 50/40/90 last season. We've never seen anything like KD before as far as an entire package, a volume scorer at 7 feet, with handles, athletic, and as efficient as he is and he's not even in his prime yet.

He's like Dirk x Kobe DNA was combined in a lab and spit out this freak of nature.

Kobe was putting up similar numbers that same season so his uniqueness at least to me takes a bit of a hit.

Really just depends on what you value, Duncan is by far the superior rebounder and defender but he's not in Dirk's league offensively.

If my team had a defensive anchor at the 5, I'm taking prime Dirk everytime. If I had Samuel Dalembert at the 5 I'm taking prime Duncan.

I wasn't saying he was as effecient as KD but he was definitely within range, we know KD stands alone.

I think KD is now in his prime, just not at his apex (two more years until that).

I mean, look what happened when Dirk had a true Center at his side. laugh.gif

The most difficult series that year was Portland, laugh.gif
DALLAS MAVERICKS
. At least Rick Carlisle is still here .
. Anderson, Barea, Dalembert, Evans, Felton, Harris, Jenkins, Matthews, McGee, Nowitzki, Pachulia, Parsons, Powell, Villanueva Williams .

Think you gotta put prime KG in there. He takes the best from both Dirk (maybe not all the way to 3 point range, but moreso than Timmy) and Duncan. Literally could do everything at an elite on both ends.

And that's why I was saying KD is unique and literally no one like him has come along before. I've seen plenty of volume scores (AI, Kobe, T-Mac, etc.) But none of them have done it at the level that the more shots they take, their efficiency doesn't take a significant hit most of the time. T-Mac's highest FG% was 46% (32 ppg-on 24 shots) in 2002-2003 in his prime. Kobe's 47% (27 ppg on 20 shots) in 2008-2009, AI's 46% (27 ppg on 19 shots) in 2007-2008. KD hasn't shot below 46% since his rookie year and his efficiency at being a volume scorer, at his size, with that handle and shooting touch from long range is what make him unique.

He gives you what Bron does in all around game (at least this season) and efficiency in his prime taking many more shots, the shooting touch Dirk has at that size in his prime, and sheer unstoppable nature and ability to put up points every single night that Kobe had in his prime. If he continues to commit to becoming an elite defender, there's nothing stopping this guys (barring injury) from cracking into that Mount Rushmore when he's done.

Ehhh. When they were in their primes, Duncan outscored him every time they met up in the playoffs, that includes in '06 when Dallas had a top 10 D.

Point is, you can run your offense through both guys, and Duncan is so much better on the end of the floor that I'd go with him every time.

Dirk had a good game vs the Thunder but come on. There not beating anyone in the playoffs.

Also to compare Dirk or KG to Duncan is laughable. Duncan is a all time top 10 player. Dirk and KG aren't in that class.
KG was every bit as good as Duncan offensively, better as a playmaker, maybe better defensively. Don't let the rings fool you. Duncan has consistently had a better team and organization around him, but KG in Minny was a gaddamn monster.

Meh. Duncan is/was way better than KG and Dirk both. There's no way KG was as good as Duncan offensively, sorry.

Seriously, the year Wolves played the Spurs in the Playoff KG consistently out played Duncan. I know people hate the tough guy act, but KG was the man in Minny.

LA and Boston had superior teams in the 80s, the Lakers in the 2000s and Heat now but do you downgrade Magic, Bird, Shaq, Kobe, LeBron? No. That team argument is weak and old. The most stacked teams always win in the NBA. 99% of the time.

No doubt. If he had anything remotely close to Gregg Popovich & RC Buford in Minny then the perception would be a lot different.
