That Jon Lucas play is hilarious.

I doubt any Knick fan is worried about how much money Dolan gave Phil.  Most probably wish it was $100mm a year.  Let that dude go bankrupt.

the ultimate HOLD ME BACKK moment.. smh.

The faint swing from Lucas along with Lin standing there like "Sigh..." is hilarious

nba should let these guys go at it for 15-30 secs and let it be over with ejections and suspension. it'll cut out all that fake tough guy act.

Garcia might be in the fake tough guy hall of fame

He wanted zero parrs of perk. How do you let Lucas try you like that tho

Does anyone have that crazy stat that shows Denver's record when teams go to Denver on a 2nd night of a back to back? I remember last season when I saw it they were something like 37-3 in the last 40.

It's a five year-$60 million contract, so $12 million a year.

If we know one thing it's that Phil is going to get that check.

Son going to be doing shrooms in Montana recommending Melo spirituality books via Skype getting paid more than Steph Curry

If anyone is the fake tough guy in that situation it's Lucas, throwing the back-away air punches

It looked like Perkins wanted nothing to do with Asik though. "Move Asik, I need to get to Garcia" I actually didn't even remember the stuff after Perkins and Garcia got into it

Phil: "Carmelo is one of, if not the best isolation scorer in the game.  But he still has another level he can go to."

...Phil knows.  He's being political, but he knows.

Why does anyone care what a coach or GM makes, especially ones who might actually help in a positive manner? These owners and franchises like the Knicks have more money than they can ever spend. There's a lot of worthless players that make that kind of money that cut into an actual salary cap.

Yeah it's meaningless.

The Knicks are one of the most valuable sports franchises in the U.S. and are also desperate. I have no problem with them throwing a lot of money at Phil. If nothing else, it tells the team's fans that they're at least trying to get out of the mess they're in. Hell, if Phil really wanted to be a #$%^, he probably could have held out for even more money -- and probably have gotten it too.

Knick fans by no means should have any problem with Phil getting paid.

Whether he earns every penny or not means nothing, he put a face back on the Knicks franchise right here and now, and will generate interest as long as he is there.

They'll easily make 60+ mil off him, good or bad.

Congrats to the Knicks and their fans, and good luck to Phil, hope he succeeds there.

I'm confused. Phil Jackson been getting paid $12M per year since his second stint with the Lakers in '05. Was James Dolan supposed to offer him a paycut to lure him out of retirement?

Classic case of damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I still have serious doubts on how that dynamic will work and the Knicks org never, ever deserves the benefit of doubt. But you can do a hell of a lot worse than having Phil Jackson attempt to change your basketball culture and being involved with operations. Like, for example, having Billy King run your team or Mike Brown as your coach.

Nah man. Knicks gonna Knick...go with the narrative.
