The Knicks need structure. They also need someone in charge who knows what he's doing. The "in charge" part is key...contrary to popular opinion, there are people in the current front office that have a good eye for talent. Mark Warkentein is the obvious example.

For being a laughingstock of the league, they've actually had a surprising number of personnel moves work in their favor over the past few seasons...think

Novak and Lin from the scrap heaps. Drafting Shump with the 17th pick. Copeland from Europe. Prigioni from Europe. Drafting THJR with the 24th pick (which I hated at the time). Jeremy Tyler is another solid pick-up. I could go on but you get the point.

The organization ***** themselves when Dolan gets involved. That's been the main problem...the guy in charge ruining the work of those under him. This is *supposed* to change with Phil.

So I don't know what exactly is gonna happen, but their entire front office doesn't need an overhaul. PJ can keep guys like Mark W. along with his people and have them do most of the leg work required in day-to-day duties. Phil's actual job label doesn't concern me...****, he might end up being more of a figurehead than an actual President. The important part is he brings STRUCTURE and credibility to a role that was basically occupied by James Dolan. That can't be overstated.

Well on paper Tor-ATL is a better game.  I'd rather see this than LeBron destroying Cleveland for the umpteenth time.  Battle with playoff implications.
