Finding an athletic, 6'7 do-it-all swingman like Iguodala in his prime (or just a bit past it) would be awfully difficult.

And the ones you find are awfully difficult to get for less than $13 million.

I get that but he's exiting his prime, he's 30 and his athleticism is already starting to fade, he's already not the defender or passer he was during his Philly days.

They were better off trying to get a Jimmy Butler type late in the draft than giving Iggy 13 mill per through his 30's.
I think finding a Jimmy Butler type in the late first is as difficult as finding an Iguodala type for less than $13 million per. Not sure anyone in the 2013 draft fit that profile by the time they were picking. The guys that did fit that profile (Reggie Bullock, Tim Hardaway Jr., Solomon Hill) were already gone. Only dudes worth a damn in the second round so far have been Ryan Kelly, Nate Wolters and Ray McCallum. :x

Spurs offense is beautiful.

Can't believe dudes in here were saying Mavs could challenge the Spurs in a 7 game series.

i was referring to baseball as a sport in general not the MLB.  Like it's a lot easier for people to go out and play baseball or be in a rec league than it is for basketball/football. Giving the sport more popularity among the general population

Yeah, that's not really true. Basketball is probably the easiest sport for anyone to just go out and play. All you need is a ball and a hoop. You can play it with as little as 2 people or as many as 10. You need more equipment, space and players for baseball. I see people of all ages, genders, races, etc. playing pick up hoops. Pick-up baseball, not so much.

Are you hispanic?
What kind of weird question is that? No i'm not, but as far as i've seen, there are a ton of hispanic baseball players

I guess the point i was trying to make is that it isn't as physically demanding. Making it a lot easier for people of all ages, athletic or not, to go out and play a game.

I'm not really talking about shooting some hoops in your driveway, if you want to use that as an example, you can just as easily go out and play catch or pitch the ball to a friend while he bats.....

Kellz has been a pleasant surprise. He does a little bit of everything.

I hate to be all cliche, but he is the fundamentally sound four year senior.

there is no way baseball is easier for the average guy to have access to than basketball, all it takes is a hoop and a ball and you can playbasketball anywhere

theres a reason why basketball is the worlds fastest growing sport

Was just having a discussion with my friend about this.

Has basketball overtaken baseball for the #2 sport in America? I mean, I dont know the numbers behind it all, but espn recently on t.v. were discussing its plummeting popularity as a whole, and overall I feel as though no sport has benefitted from the social media boom as much as the NBA. The star power of the NBA is on full display right now, and in 20 years I do believe baseball will have faded significantly (if it hasn't already) and basketball will easily be the clear cut #2 sport in America. Its tailor made for this instant gratification generation. Baseball also doesnt appeal to pop culture at all, which is just magnified in this hyper social era that we exist in.

Its getting harder and harder, do me at least, to find people who are genuine baseball fans.

Baseball is more popular. I watch basketball the most and so do my friends but when I talk to working world people...football and baseball is where the conversation goes 90% of the time.

Everyone in NYC grows up playing basketball but it's honestly a baseball city.

Nothing to do with big three or whatever. I think basketball fans are In their own little world when it comes to ranking popularity.

^how? No one has even said baseball wasnt more popular than hoops right now.

However, just take a look at the MLB and NBA. Baseball has been in a serious slump popularity wise since 07 while basketball has went in the opposite direction. As I said, in 20 years I dont think its out of the realm of possibility that basketball overtakes baseball. Its already a fleeting sport and thats a fact. Its popularity is dwindling a bit.

Baseball sucks compared to Basketball in terms of entertainment, athleticism, and actual time where the ball is in play.

baseball is the slowest out of the four major American sports right now. Their games take forever.

As long as middle aged and senior citizen white men are around, baseball will never be not popular
