If Melo takes 15 mil they won't have to gut the team. Boozer leaves via amnesty clause, trade Taj and they should be able to squeeze him into their cap I believe.

Remeber your max contract is based on your years of experience, so 15 mil is a steep paycut for a player with over a decade of experience like Melo. I'll believe it when I see it

When the Miami trio did it, the 14 mil they agreed to wasn't too far off of what a 7 year vet is allowed to get on a max deal.
