Tyson Chandler, David West, Blake Griffin, Peja Stoiakovic, JR Smith, DeAndre Jordan, Jamal Crawford, Caron Butler, Matt Barnes; that's a nice supporting cast.

And somebody complaining about DJ, all he can do is catch, dunk, run, and block shots. Some teams got starting centers who can't do any of those things.

along with all this, let me know when rose, westbrook or rondo... actually check that, let me know if ANY all star loses a playoff game by 58 points.

I don't put the lack of playoff success on him. He went 7 games with the Spurs in '08 or '09 with his second bananas being West and Tyson (who were good, but still), hit a pivotal game winner just last year in Game 2 or so against the Grizzlies. Look at these teammates around him. Griffin, Jordan, Bledsoe (at the time)... they were talented and made plays in the regular season, but that team wasn't built for the playoffs at all. In a 7-game series where you have to be disciplined 100% of the time and the highlight plays are lessened because defenses get ramped up.... that's not on CP. It's on management.

I'm not arguing that anybody that is on the opposite side of the argument doesn't totally have any ground to stand on, but I think it's a little unjustified.

See the difference is that this is not 2011. Chicago knows how to play without D Rose. They played an entire year without him, they know what works, everyone is completely comfortable with their offensive ability with or without him. Our bench is looking great and Taj Gibson is looking like he's going for Most Improved this year, no one else on the East really has a chance except us.

I'll concede he is the or 2nd best pg in the NBA, once you isolate away the "not getting to the 2nd rd" part and just look at his box scores, but I just throw that * in and footnote, that's all

George Karl hasn't ever been considered the best coach in the league. That would be comparable if Chris Paul had only peaked as a Top 5 PG in the league throughout his career and nothing more. He has been almost universally slotted as the best PG in the league for some time now.
