According to ESPN, Kobe is not a top 20 player. They listed him at 25. Who the F makes these lists?
Ranking players across positions is beyond stupid anyway. That Achilles injury might be a career changer though.. I wouldn't be surprised to see him become a shell especially considering his play style of chucking shots. If he became a facilitator then it could change everything and make him an even better player

Most of Kobe's points come from the mid range area or on iso sets with his back to the basket so it's not like he's relying heavily on athleticism to get his points. He's a skilled mid range shooter and everyone knows that your jumper is the last thing to leave your arsenal. With this Lakers team I think he can still average 25 5 and 5. If he can do that then I don't think it's fair to say there are 24 players better than him.

Chandler Parsons, Hedo Turkglu is a good comparison. Both solid shooting, 6-9 point forwards.

i don't think it's a fair comparison yet.

he only shot 38.5% from three, but that's an improvement from the 33.7% his rookie year. he's also not the distributor that turkoglu was,, but there's A LOT of room for improvement.

They had Parsons at 55 :smh::rolleyes
Parsons is becoming an overrated player now :smh:

i think the "overratedness" comes from people projecting his career and play too far out, instead of just letting him develop and watching as we go.

I think you guys are reading the list wrong...
I think out of respect for KB they wanna give him the edge he will come back to greatest you never wanna see a player drop off cause of a injury.

Don't know if you agree but  if Yao could have played without the major foot injury he would have been one of the best center maybe better then Shaq during his time...Big Man had skills

Dwight really compared Harden to Courtney Lee?

***** just needs to not talk to the media everI
Guess The Great Kareem was right his knowledge off the game is very LOW!!!!!

But i understand why he compared the two since the question most likely was about his Magic who played in finals vs his new Rockets team trying to get there....

I agree with the Yao talk, if he would've stayed healthy he would've been one of the best big men to ever do it. He shot a career 83% from the line :x

As far as the Kobe situation, if he comes back at the beginning of the season I think he should be tested for PEDs

if you wanna call a guy stupid, have the balls to call him stupid. don't sugar coat with "his basketball IQ is low"

and yes, it seems by all accounts that the nature of the comparisons were finding links to his team that went to the finals.

i felt privileged to watch yao grow as a player. his first few years he was always in foul trouble, and it took him a while but he finally started to understand the NBA game. he gave big men fits on the block because he had such good touch and was just so god damn big

Can't send Yao to the Line he would make you pay unlike Shaq (no disrespect)

LoL PED's i think could is gonna be back i'm thinking more like in Dec in time for the Christmas Game...Learn something from him D.Rose eye of a warrior not worried about re-injury just wanna play ball...

Yao once he got in his groove was an anomaly. Tall as the god damn rim and had range on his jumper to 18 feet, good footwork and was a great foul shooter. He already had too much mileage on his body though man, being as huge as he is I knew we weren't going to be able to see him have a long career. I remember Shaq on TNT one time talking about how great Yao got compared to when he first came into the league and you could see the disappointment on his face when talking about his early retirement. Definitely thought him + T-Mac was getting atleast 1 ring :smh:

I agree with you on the Basketball IQ is low but if he called him right out Stupid would Kareem be helping him. I think if Howard listened he notice between the line he told you "Please Young Man Work Hard in the Post Area you have more to work on take the game serious"

That's so true about Yao once he felt comfy in the NBA he was taking Big Men to school on the block....

It's stupid that ESPN does these rankings and lists in the first place.

I don't care where they put Kobe or any other player I like... it's not affecting a damn thing.
