Anyone out there actually take Westbrook over Rose? I see them being compared a lot, IMO it's not even a question. Rose's ability to pace himself and to change speeds gives him the clear edge. Westbrook definitely improved last season in his decision making but those Bad Russ moments are a mystery. When he goes in a straight line 100 MPH or forces shots for no apparent reason, it's just smh worthy.
Dont just look at one side of the ball, russ is a more intense defender, i'll deal with the out of controll plays when i know my pg is gonna lock up consistently, also russ mid range pull up> >> rose
Don't think the defense tilts the scale to his favor but if he continues to prove he can pace himself and reel it in offensively there isn't much to stop him. I could not imagine Westbrook leading a team and having the kind of year rose had when he won MVP. But like I said Westbrook has shown improvement in his choices

I hate it but I've been so busy with this whole life thing that I have barely read anything on the NBA. Can anyone quickly compile a good list of preview resources for the upcoming season? I need to get re-acquainted with the current state of the league. I see Grantland has been doing something substantial with its YouTube channel this year. Should that be my first stop?

Also, this thread moves too damn fast.
That would definitely be my first stop. Quit your job, you were one of my favourite posters in the past threads.

good to see oden back out on the court... him getting his first basket on that dunk was a nice way to come back too. he had some nice plays on defense as well contesting shots & forcing a jump ball.

I look at Durant & wish Beas had same similar improvement with his ball handling.

KD traveled and carried

Yeah, I know it's preseason and against the Clipper bigs, but still!

Edit:

The Jazz have an embarrassment of riches up front.

True. Just too bad for them they have NOBODY in the back court. Kanter didn't do much last night, but Favors looked like an all-star. And that Gobert kid was a real defensive presence.

They said on the broadcast I was watching that the Jazz have 6 first round picks over the next two years. So, I'm interested to see what they look like about 3 years from now. Should be real tough.

I thought Gobert was a late lottery talent, his length is incredible, teams got scared off by his low vertical numbers, which to me is dumb, he's still fluid and mobile.

and most importantly for a 7-2 guy he looks like to compete and play basketball.

He totally develop into a Hibbert like game changing force.

Really great draft pick.
