insightful. nothing tells a story like a picture of john calipari eating pizza.
Smh did you watch any syracuse gms last year or just going off of #s or the couple of tourny gms? they dont run a uptempo offense which is the reason mcw is flourishing so far in the nba, stop looking at a players college #s and say "oh he shot this pct in college, so in the nba he shouldnt be this good"
Or maybe he's saying "He shot 29% in college from 3, so he wasnt a good 3 point shooter".

MCW & Spencer Hawes both have a 30 PER. They are playing waaaaaaay over their heads, especially the rook. They're putting up All NBA first/second team numbers. Turner is too.

They will inevitably come back down to earth.

Agree. Seems like every season there's a bad team that gets off to a hot start and then comes back to reality. Like, I think it was in 2007 and the Clippers started 4-0 with a really random team. They had like Dan Dickau and Ruben Partterson. Part if it was because Cuttino Mobley had like the best stretch of games of his life. They only won like 15 more games the rest of the season.

And am I remembering right that the Bobcats started off pretty well last year? Like over .500 for a couple weeks? We know how that turned out.

So, basically, this Sixers team isn't going to be as historically terrible as people thought, but they're not going to be good either.

Also Bennett will be good just having a rough start, I stand by all my praise of the young man as a player. He does have identify crisis though and thinks he's a Melo/Rudy Gay hybrid which needs urgent correction

They will inevitably come back down to earth. MCW is putting up Steph Curry numbers from 3 point range after shooting 29% from deep in college & bricking virtually everything in summer league & preseason. The guy was 39% from the field at Cuse.

Please attempt to look at this objectively. The only dude who is giving you anything close to his usual production is Thad Young.

Spencer Hawes and Evan Turner are hitting the EXACT same shots that they've always hit...they're just getting more/betters attempts now that Doug Collins/Jrue isn't around to waste 20 seconds off the shot clock and be forced to shoot mostly forced shots when they're kicked out to. Thad Young is doing everything he's always done besides adding a three pointer to his game. As I said, the four of them aren't going to keep up these exact numbers obviously but they aren't going to be THAT far off from them.

I posted in here multiple times before the season started that the Sixers better trade Turner, Thad and Hawes quick because they play too well together to be the worst team in the league...but everybody in here was just like "nah...they suck"

Russy!!! #fashionking

I hope he's not rushing it and is 100% healthy because if he goes down again OKC is screwed

Syracuse has one of the of the best transition offenses in the country and they run a lot. They're pace of play is skewed by playing a zone and making teams take time on that end. But when they get it, they go. 41st fastest offense out of 340 teams last year. Even Quicker the year before.

Russ playin' tonight?

So glad MCW is killing it like I believed he could, I'm still waiting on the come down but will enjoy the ride as much as possible.

Wasn't it just last year (or maybe the year before) that Hawes was balling out of his mind early on, and people went nuts...and then he came crashing back down to earth lol.
