prime shaq would average 40 on dwight in a 7 game series, i dont see how dwight could/can work with kareem, hakeem, ewing and mcale but still has 0 post moves and no idea what to do on the offensive end

Can't bring up shaq. Shaq didn't have that many moves either. A lot of his success was due to his overwhelming size.

Those other guys like hakeem ewing and mcchale were naturally like that. Sure they worked on it, but they weren't nearly as stiff as dwight is. That's just his make up, his natural composition. That hinders his ability to be as swift as those guys which in turn affects how effective he is on the floor. A big plus for those guys is they could consistently step away from the block and make face up jumpers out to 17 feet. Dwight will never be able to do that. His stiffness, plus his lack of shooting ability, will always be a huge hindrance to his game. People give credit to those guys for their moves which is certainly deserved, but almost always fail to account for how pivotal those guys ability to step away and shoot was. Those moves wouldn't be nearly as effective if the defense didn't have to account for their face up jumpers 17 feet away.

Chris Webber aka Kendrick Lamar

I'm just tired of shaq getting his shots in on dwight. Shaq needs his time to shine but its to much. Shaq will do this over the year also. We know how shaq operates lol

I think we all have a problem with Shaq demanding so much from Dwight because we know Dwight isn't good enough to live up to those expectations.

Lakers will for sure give up the lead, hopefully we can weather the storm and pull out the W

You know who also had size? Muresan, Bradley, Bowie etc. Shaq had size and moves. He knew what to do, so you can't just say he had size. He has to know what to do with it. Dwight is a waste of size a lot of the time.

Wasn't just about to say the Rockets need to abandon the 3 ball and just take it inside. Probably still should do that

Didn't say he didn't have moves. I just said he didn't have that many. He really just used the jumphook over the left shoulder, sometimes jumphook over the left shoulder but that was it. Most of his time was spent establishing position which was easy due to his enormous size.

Those guys did not have shaq size man. He was 7'1 360 and aggressive. Those guys did not posess Shaquille O'neal like size and you know it.

key word: aggressive. All those dudes were big with the exception of Bradley, I just threw him in there because of his height (that he NEVER used to his advantage). That goes for anyone. Granted none of those guys were as great as Shaq but being aggressive accounts for something. Dwight needs to be more aggressive period. If he commits to being a real center and not smedium man, he'll be fine. This is the only thing that irritates me about his game.

Dwight doesn't have the innate offensive ability of other great centers and likely doesn't have the focus or work ethic either.

We should have stopped asking him to be Shaq/Ewing/Kareem 5 years ago... but he should be better than he is. The problem is he never developed anything consistent out of pick and rolls... you don't respect his shot, so he's not going to beat you as a face up guy away from the basket. He doesn't have the footwork to beat his guys in the post. He doesn't have the strength to just bully guys either. If he just went with the pick and roll, and used the post occasionally to get a couple quick dribbles and spin to the basket or hook shot over his man, he'd be golden. 20 a game, 13 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and you're good.

If people just accepted his weaknesses, we'd all be better off, I haven't expected him to be anything more in a few years.

Do these teams like watching each other shoot threes? Theyre just standing there waiting, it's pathetic all around

But my point was that even if he is that aggressive like shaq was, it was easy for shaq to be that. He was so much bigger than every other center he went up against. The same can't be said for Dwight. If he were more aggressive sure he would get more touches, but what good would that do? He doesn't have the ability to do much with the ball. In that regard, I think we can both agree that he's severely limited. IMO Shaq was too, but had a patent jump hook that he would always go to. Dwight doesn't have that, and he doesn't have shaq's size either.
