On top of it all, what exactly was going to happen? Perk bumping his gums knowing good and well there would be a grip of folks breaking **** up if either of them took a step to one another. Easy to pop off at the mouth when you know nothing is going to happen....

He said he played against Iverson and the sixers many times and how AI had the perfect team around him. Bunch of role players (hustle, defense, consistent players, etc), allowed him to play his game while everyone else knew their role.
Then he compared Melo and the Knicks to KD and the Thunder. Saying KD has Westbrook and a bunch of defensive/hustle/rebounding role players (seolosha, ibaka, perkins). Perfect team around KD.
How in NY, Melo has a bunch of inefficient scorers and players who cant defend and hustle. Too many scorers (TJH, JR, Amare, Felton) leads to too many bad shots (including him). Basically saying Tyson is the only complimentary player to Melo. How he needs a pass first PG, defenders, and rebounders around him to truly succeed.

Most of the beat writers, the 2 good ones anyways, describe Perk and Noah's exchange and not that big of a deal. Thabo and Joakihm are friends and Thabo was in their locker room then invited Noah over to the Thunder locker room to hang out while he finished his media obligations. Darnell, always the sensationalist, is the one who described it like it was some big fight about to go down. I don't think Joakihm, or anyone, is scared of Kendrick Perkins or takes him seriously. In his 21 minutes of basketball, Perkins had 0 points, 0 blocks, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal. He probably thought Thabo or the Thunder were recruiting Noah to replace his *** and got scared.

Unless they think Lamb is ready to step up more, they really should not get rid of Jackson as well. KD, Westbrook, Ibaka, and Jackson should be the 4 main people they try to keep for now.
