But on the basis of talent they were far from
an elite team. The only one-star team to win a chip in recent memory.
Rockets winning their first championship, Hakeem was the only all star.. Dream

True, but still Lebron never played with nearly the same level of talent that dirks had over his career.

Dirks title team had a defensive player of the year type player. Also had a very capable quarterback in Kidd. A very battle tested Marion and hungry guys like brewer and barrea lookin for contracts

dirks 2010 mavs >>> any team lebron had on the cavs

that series when they swept us it seemed like every player and their grandmothers was hitting 4-5 threes per game :x

they were a team that got hot at the perfect time

just checked the stats, in 4 games vs the lakers dirk shot 73% from 3, terry shot 68% and peja shot 53%
that ball movement was incredible.

That entire run was just crazy to me.

Brooming Kobe & Phil was one thing, but knocking off Bron/Wade was :wow: especially after the 2 series Bron had against two defenses that were much better than Dallas's. I thought Bron was unstoppable at that point

Crazy run for Dallas man

I had completely written Dirk off after '07 when he won the MVP award, nearly won 70 games, but lost in the first round to GSW while playing like ****. I don't even think he had 10 point in the last game of that series.

Dirk's title team was probably better than any LeBron team, but they were still not a championship level team based on talent, especially in today's era.  When you are talking about KIdd, Brewer, and Barea as positives in the first sentence that speaks volumes.

However, Dirk's 70 win team and most of the post-Nash era teams were just as bad as LeBron's contending Cleveland squads.  And they played in the West.  Josh Howard, Marquise Daniels, near-retirement Jerry Stackhouse, were the guys he was "relying" on.

all this and jason terry has been one of the best 6th men in the past 10 years, 4th all time in 3pt shooting

they had 3 guys in the top 10 all time 3pters made list and thats not even including dirk

and for some reason lebron couldnt even post up jj barea that series

Yeah, their second best scorer was the 6th man.  I don't see what's impressive about that team in any way.  They were expected to be a 7-8 seed at best that year.  Obviously they played great, but mostly Dirk carried them.

Yep what dirk did that run was pretty legendary. I'm more so trying to make the point that Lebron really had some terrible support while in Cleveland. Post Nash, dirk didn't have it so great either but he has been a part of some pretty outstanding teams in his career

literally any other year in the past 20 seasons and that team would have never made it to the finals

the toughest team they faced (in the west) was a lakers team whos best player had knee problems and they chose to not miss for 4 straight games, it was smooth sailing to the championship.

you talking about lawrence frank?

his career is being ****** with by jason kidd

he's supposed to be happy with that?

well he did get his first head coaching job because of kidd after kidd forced byron scott out of new jersey after going to the finals 2 straight times and at the time was leading their division

karma is a ***** for both of them

That isn't even close to true.  OKC was no joke at all, and had come off beating a very tough Memphis team.  Not to mention they beat Miami in the finals.

Its a sideshow. Dude cant just take his paycheck and chill can he

SIX MILLION DOLLARS
yeah over 6 years

he's basically been demoted so it's 6 years of being "reporter" and "team evaluator" and not having access to practice, team meetings, etc

this move immediately puts a dent in his frank's career as an nba (asst) coach. once those six years are up he's probably gonna be up for towel boy because of the stigma that's been placed on him by someone that has no business coaching in the league

you'd be ok with that, but i wouldn't if i was him. and he obviously isn't happy with it, that's why he got his lawyers on the job

gonna miss this hairline

Good point.

The NBA is becoming a joke. All the dudes defending this new generation of players, saying NBA players are getting better are just dumb.

This league should have tops, 18-20 teams.

Thank you... it's wash rinse repeat with these "future stars". Every year people get hyped watching the Rookie/Sophomore game and usually like 2 or 3 of the players in that game go on to win major awards or rings... The league is diluted and some people think we need more franchises

Also the PG position overall is OD overrated right now
