The NBA is becoming a joke. All the dudes defending this new generation of players, saying NBA players are getting better are just dumb.

This league should have tops, 18-20 teams.

A bad start to season because teams are tanking, star players are hurt and bunch of new head coaches should not be a indictment on this generation.

If you go back through any generation there was always a few great teams and a load of bad teams

knicks, nets, cavs, raptors, detroit, chicago are not tanking, they are just turrable

Like I said there has always been a bunch of bad teams but you can't disregard the amount of injuries to key players there has been this season

chicago - will eventually said F it and tank
cavs - why not try your luck 1 more year?
detroit - not tanking
nets - will probably just give up mid season if they turn it around soon
knicks - never have, never will :smh:

My prediction of the Celtics making the playoffs looking good doe :nerd:

What are you talking about? You know KG is older than Dirk right? And who is the last person he locked up, not counting random Euro who he "intimidated" with his MF heavy rants in pickup games, or himself in the last 6 minutes of a game.

almost missed this fam

i was comparing the KG that you were alluding to....to the Dirk that you were alluding to...so the age difference doesn't matter. just what they were in your basis of comparison.

and im not even going to go down the path of locking up an individual. fine, you can have it. even if he doesn't do it, i stated in the same post his team defense concept is elite. anyone that tries to minimize KG's defensive effect on the game....I'll prolly just stop the convo there and move on.

What would the playoffs actually look like w/o conferences?
The Wiz being one of three teams to represent the East

eh, it ain't even like that at all

like i said earlier in this thread, it's not about the # of teams or fanbase, it's about the way an organization is managed from the top down

there's a lot of room for expansion with lots of hungry & talented players (d league/college) who deserve a better shot than they're getting from the powers that be. we have had some great play this season from young players who are gonna make this league fun to watch. but you can't expect that to happen night after night

if anything, you're definitely expecting/asking for too much here from teams that play 3-4 times per week over the course of nearly 8 months. reducing the amount of teams ain't gonna do much when you have that long & rigorous of a schedule. it wears on players physically and sometimes freak things happen during the course of the year that could totally change any teams' fate - all that has absolutely nothing to do with how many teams there are in the league. management and owners are the ones at fault for making terrible decisions which affect the quality of play. it ain't a science as much as they'd like you to think

the miami thing killed the east, if that never happened there would be dwade/heat, lebron/cavs, bosh/raptors. three solid playoff teams that fans will want to see, now its one team and two trash franchises that no one gets excited about.

same thing happened with orlando, even though they are doing a good job of rebuilding

Don Ramon made a good point about mangement, Cleveland never put a championship caliber team around Lebron and nobody wants to play in Toronto even though its a great city

was actually thinking this morning about how "superteams" have done more to hurt the league than enable other teams from attempting to even the score by picking up superstat players to put on their own squad.

unless a team got bank and/or luck by circumstance (right timing, great draft choices that stick with the team, etc) quality play across the board is not going to be achieved. there's always gonna be some kind of imbalance to this **** now

Yea, thats the other thing. Doesn't help the NBA when 3 of the best players in the game decide to play for one team. They're only a handful of stars in the league who can actually make a difference. LeBron's fault

D-league and college players who are on the fringe of making the league we need more of Don Ramon? Are you kidding? Give them more opportunity? Those dudes are a dime a dozen, you can find them anywhere, they aren't difference makers.

Let's contract the league... it's too watered down.

Five minutes later...

Too much talent on one team is ruining the NBA.. down with super teams.

That's basically what I'm hearing, right?

It's almost 2014, I'm not having the "super teams are ruining the NBA" argument again. I'm not a hypocrite, if the Knicks landed Lebron and co. rather than Miami, I (and 99% of Knicks fans) wouldn't cry. If/when the Lakers reload, if/when the Celtics, your team, his team, whoever... no one would complain about it if they were so fortunate.

And please.. no one (other than OKB) on here was excited about Bosh and the Raps in the playoffs

And they'd all get beaten by the west.
