2013-2014 NBA Thread - IND @ WAS and OKC @ LAC on ESPN

Simmons trades are great when he's serious and when he's trolling like Asik - Green

why are dudes acting as if this trade is blasphemus Asik is an average starting center. Great defensively and on the boards super avaerage on offense and he's arpund 26-27 and is CLEARLY not a fit with the rockets current lineup. them getting green would open up the floor dramatically for Dwight & Harden. Green is undersized at the 4 but against the top teams in the west it's not like you need ben wallace in the post.

OKC, GS, SAS, LAC all have forwards who aren't going to go into the post and bang and most close out their games with a small lineup. If i'm houston and that's on the table along with a spare role player i'm taking that deal.

Jeff Green would get eaten alive by Duncan, David Lee, Ibaka and Blake. Hes not defending any of those dudes

You literally just named 4 of the best power forwards in the league, very few people are stopping them for the most part, Jeff Freen least of anybody

If Asik could catch the ball and shoot free throws he'd be a top 3 center. I swear most of y'all in this thread don't care about defense at all

I realize a piece of what you said is true

but this isnt the bulls asik hes a lot beter

& @doworkson ainge aint THAT stupid

Brahs this is a MUST see interview of Gilbert Arenas.. the transcript is in the link below, you should scroll down and watch the video to see his reactions lol

Apparently dude designs apps now and is an angel investor

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...n-his-wizards-contract/?wpsrc=AG0003001&clsrd

This an excerpt from the beginning
“What I did to get the contract was different than what I’ve done since I got the contract,” Arenas said, accurately. “I got hurt before I got the contract and I still got rewarded. So it’s not like I tricked somebody. They knew I was hurt. I didn’t play that year; I played like [13] games the year before my contract and I got the contract anyway, because of what I DID. You get paid on what you did, not what you’re GONNA do. That’s what people don’t understand. You get paid on what you did.”

 :smh:

Tiago Splitter might dunk less than any footer in the league.

He is always doin some awkward layup from point blank range where his hands are right at the basket, and misses a good amount of them.

Boom.

Houston gets a stretch four and backup center.
Milwaukee gets a competent point guard on a flexible contract while opening up playing time for John Henson.
Portland gets an upgrade at center on a good contract.

Arenas: Well, what I do now is work. I’ve created three apps. I can’t tell you because if I tell you and you don’t like me, you’re not gonna download them. I’m an app creator. I’m smarter than the average; I just act dumb. That’s what gets people’s attention; you act dumb, you get people’s attention….Yeah, I got three apps. If you like Five Guys burgers and you’re in California, I was one of the people who helped bring it here. I was one of the investors, so you’re welcome. I’m doing fine….I mean, I can spend every penny I have in the bank and I still have $38 million coming.

same thing Cam was saying in his breakfast club interview.... "i dont attach my name to stuff cuz we hate on each other"

Also what he said about how he put in the hours in the gym was true. It's not like he was a slouch or lazy, dude was a workout warrior. The Wizards should have never given him the contract but you can't blame Gil for that.

Thats the absolute truth though. You get paid on what you did.

Gil had one of the best/shortest runs in nba history, 3rd best pg after kidd & nash during his run

I don't see Knight being a competent point guard.

He competes and can shoot threes, but otherwise meh.

Can anyone put me on some advanced stats sites that are noteworthy, or maybe any NBA statistic site in general that they've enjoyed (that you don't need a membership for, unless it's dirt cheap)?

Basketball blog/T'Wolves centric for a radio station I work at. Metrics are huge, and when you dig deep you'll find many angles that you can't see when you get caught watching the ball in some situations. Would work a lot of #s into articles, but try to draft them in the "Grantland" flair, freewrite style. Now, how they'd come out after they go to the editor, who knows. But we shall see.

*Never thought Brandon Knight was going to amount to much in the NBA. At Kentucky he didn't seem to have the quickness that is necessary at the next level, nor any type of passing ability that puts him ahead of the next guy. Good shooter obviously, but I still have to see more.

Ahem.

Well, well, well. Did not know you had listed all of the resources in the first post. :pimp:

Appreciate it, P. :D

Why does it look like Melo's calves are extremely different from one another?
