The Jazz and Gordon Hayward are said to be far apart on extension talks. His camp wants money like they 4/49 that Favors just got.

Not mad at the kid. Until these GM's stop throwing boatloads of money to guys who don't deserve it, it doesn't hurt to ask for huge money. Some idiot will pay him around that I'd wager anyway.

Do we not all agree Hayward > Favors? In my opinion he should be getting more money than Favors just got most definitely

I think they're about even. Not a fan of giving either that much money, but then again they're young and it's only 4 years. And it's Utah. Teams like that are already at a slight disadvantage.

Is Hayward appreciably better than Marco Belinelli, Mike Dunleavy, or Dorrell Wright, all of whom just signed for like 3 mil this yr? 6th man on a playoff team type ceiling? OJ Mayo just signed for 8 mil per, how does he compare to Hayward? 40% 3pt shooter for his career is impressive but if you want 12 mil, you can walk. I can draft someone to give me 14ppg while we win 30 games and show no signs of returning to prominence. But I'm more for players than owners, so I'll let that boy cook. Same with Bledsoe wanting 10 mil per and Monroe demanding max, but I'd hate to be one to give it to them

Favors is more important to the Jazz future than Hayward and Gordon is my guy.

Not giving Monroe the max sorry, unless he has 20/10 on a high shooting percentage this year and even then, they handcuffed themselves with Josh Smith contract. They need the max for Drummond in a couple years

Its so funny how Paul George gets all of this hype, but Hayward getting 4/49 is crazy. While Hayward's "upside" may not be greater than George, they are pretty identical when comparing their numbers.

The top is George and the bottom is Hayward.

Hayward averages more points per possession than George nS turns the ball over less with a similar usage rate. Outside of rebounding the ball (which I think had more to do with Hayward playing with Millsap and Big Al) and assists, Hayward is better than George in just about every other category. This is coming from one of George's biggest supporters. If Hayward is asking for 4/49 and George got 5/80, I don't see the big deal. I think two years from now, Hayward will be considered the better value and George will be good, but criticized a lot due to his contract.

Paul George has playoff chops now, against LeBron no less played him as close to even as anyone has. That itself is worth cake, plus the increased athleticism, taller, all star berth, and defense; career is likely going to take off from last yr's ECFs. Hayward is a nice player, maybe could go backup PJ3 and make a return to where he played his college ball.

George outclasses Hayward defensively.

While Hayward is not Paul George defensively, he's a really good defender in my eyes. Held SG's and SF's below the league average PER. His T-Rex arms hurt at times on the defensive end  , but he makes up for it with his high motor. I don't think anyone can say George is $30M better than Hayward.

I understand that George does have some important playoff experience under his belt and matched up with Lebron several times. I just think Hayward needs the opportunity to be on just as good of a team. No doubt in my mind he can bring his A game and make a name for himself in the playoffs like George did. It may be a blessing in disguise if Utah trades him to a top team in need of small forward help that could boost their current contending status. :nerd:

Gordon is about to break out this year.

He's Mike Dunleavy Jr with solid D, I think he could give you Mike's best year at age 27, but 4 years younger 19, 5, 4. on 45/40/85
