2013-2014 NBA Thread - IND @ WAS and OKC @ LAC on ESPN

Indiana might just keep Granger and let him expire since they'll need that cap space for when PG3's extension kicks in, or ideally trade him for a non injured player on an also expiring contract, BEN GORDON is expiring at 13.2mil and would help them for 1 yr. They don't want to pay luxury tax so unlikely they make a trade that has them taking on years. First teams you call are the tanking teams who need to hit the salary floor. Next yr, the Suns will be very popular too since they are going to be again well below the floor and will need to take on massive salary to reach it. It'll be a race between OKC to dump Perkins on them, maybe Chicago wants to drop off Boozer, and every other team with an underperforming, overpaid contract. Philadelphia it looks like will be again well beneath the floor also.

 I remember when the Kings were about to be under the cap floor.

And then they decided to over pay Chuck Hayes and then overpay on Thompson's extension so the Maloofs could be a hair over the floor

Sometimes the National TV games change.

It's rare though, mainly because there aren't ever any surprise teams in the NBA. Ironically, I could see the Lakers getting flexed out later in the season. They're just going to be that bad.

Bulls beat the Heat in the season opener... like clockwork...

Ben Gordon on the Pacers is intriguing... used to give Wade and em fits

Just look at the heat's schedule to start. They should be going streaking if they get past CHI, BKN and LAC.
