Is Larry Fitzgerald Wasting His Prime with the Cardinals?

Aside from when Kurt Warner was there, the Cards have been abysmal at QB. Fitz is a top-5 receiver, is he wasting his best years in Arizona?

Yes he is. I was just thinking about that yesterday. Such wasted talent if you consider that stats he would put up with a even semi good qb smh.

Might be wasting his prime years, but no one forced him to re-sign with them.

It's crazy to think that he's only had one decent QB in his career (Warner). So close to winning a SB, too.

It's admirable that he's stayed with this team without complaining. Least I haven't heard any complaints here in NY.

Warner was a beast that Super Bowl year.

I seem to remember Warner just throwing it up to Fitz that entire post season, and it working damn near every time.

The numbers he put up in those 4 games were SILLY.

Arizona must be the most amazing place on earth. Fitz and Steve Nash both wasted away a good 5 extra years when it was clear they should have moved on somewhere else.

After that Super Bowl loss, Fitz had a chance to make the HOF.  Now he can forget about it.

He's Minnesota born and bred, we'd love to have him back at some point. :pimp:

$120 million dollars would shut me the **** up about my QBs since Kurt aside from this year being John Skelton, Ryan Lindley, pre-Cleveland Brian Hoyer, Kevin Kolb, Max Hall, and Matt Leinart.

Since week 1, when he had 14 targets, he's had:
5
6
9
6

Carson, brah, I don't care what you THINK you see out there... but giving Larry 5-6 targets a game is ******g stupid. Even Skelton and Kolb threw it his direction 9+ times a game. He's averaged 155 targets the last two seasons and is on pace for a career low (outside of rookie season) 128 so far. :smh:

**** is worse than AJ Green getting 8 looks already twice this season. Throw these dudes the ball.

I think when it's all said and done, he'll have #'s very close (or may top) Cris Carter's. I really think he gets in eventually.

I just don't see it happening champ.  Meaning, as a NFL player you have a certain target window of opportunity in the spotlight when the media and public see's you as either the best, Top 2, or Top 3 at your particular position.  That target window is usually 4-6 years (give or take) when your really building your case for the HOF.  For Fitz, probably the year before the Cards went to the Super Bowl and definitely the year they went to the Super Bowl, Fitz was in that Top 3 receiver discussion without question.

He put up a very good Super Bowl performance which only added more shine to his spotlight even in a losing effort.  Then after Kurt left/retired the "spotlight" then left from Fitz and as it currently appears, never to return again.  That's why it's so key for a NFL player to capitalize when the opportunity is there and when the spotlight is shining on them.  Once the spotlight goes, most likely that's it for that player because the media/pubic move on from you to somebody else.  We all know Fitz is very talented and is a great receiver, but he's numbers for that past few years just don't indicate as such.  It's not all his fault, but it is what it is.

Also, in regards to numbers, alot of players have numbers that match other players who are in the HOF but because the media/public doesn't care about them they don't make it to the HOF.  For example DoubleJ's07, I think last year you put up the stats for London Fletcher vs. Ray Lewis, and even though London's numbers are similar (strictly number wise) London never had the spotlight on him like Ray did, and probably never really warranted the spotlight like Ray did, be that good or bad.  Moral of the story, numbers will only get you so far in life.

Ehhh, little premature on that. Quan is 33, Reggie is 34, Smitty is 34, Dre is 32. Fitz just turned 30 like two months ago.

If he can play until 34, 35, 36 (which, at this point, seems likely) and averages 60-70 catches, 700-850 yards, and 3-5 tubs per year... he'll be at 1000, 14000 and 100 TDs in 3-4 years.

It's all hypothetical, but his numbers could very well match up against CC when it's all said and done. Just needs more than five ******g targets a game. :smh:

The two that look far and away better than him are retired and the rest are on the very tail end. He'll leapfrog Andre, Quan and Steve for sure. Depending on how much longer Reggie plays, he can catch him too. They're already even on TD's, so I don't know if this really illustrates anything about him and the HOF.
