Healthcare.gov Unappreciation Thread, Vol. Thanks Obama!

Because da supreme court took away da federal

Ability to deny all funds, thats why its optional.

And republicans were too stupid to just let this happen and criticize it. Most headlines and tv news is all about the debt ceiling. It's really one of the strangest moves I've ever seen. guess it made a few tea partiers very popular and that's kind of it.

we won't default because that hurts middle class and rich people.

Govt shutdown only hurts middle class and poor people.

The interesting thing is even though I find the current republican strategy dumb and incoherent... In a way it's genius. Media isnt talking about immigration, gun control, scaling back sequestration which were main priorities of Obama 2nd term. All discussions are essentially on republican terms. Subjects that interest them. And they have moved so far to the right that they have convinced the sheepish media to present rand Paul and Paul Ryan's views as "moderate"

 you thinking i get all my info from GOP talking

Points..this has been WIDELY panned..go to NPR

Same ****.

NT is so liberal left it hurts my brain...

 popular? I didn't know sticker shock was

Trendy..didn't know paying for mandatory insurance

When da Obama considers "30 hours full time

employment" expecting minimum wage workers

To pay hundreds a month on something they cant

Afford was datpiff...

Whatever dude. It's not just this thread, it's every thread about policy or race. Literally EVERYTHING spouted from Fox or conservative talk radio.

If the website is overloaded, then that means that, hey, people actually want this! Contrary to the far right agenda that "Obamacare" is bad and no one wants it. The **** is so stupid because Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney (who I actually liked before his run for presidency) implemented largely the SAME EXACT THING in Massachusetts. And he has had to say what has worked successfully in the state wouldn't work on a national scale...for what reason...?

"Fiscal conservatives" talk about mandatory health insurance is bad (even though mandatory car insurance exists almost everywhere), but those without health insurance will still be treated anyway and at MUCH higher costs. Evidence proves that constant doctor visits prevent trips to the emergency room.

The "oh noes, socialism" folk went OFF in that Switzerland thread, meanwhile people in Switzerland live longer and healthier and happier lives, statiscally.

The "I hate big government" group HATES being "told what to do" but are sooo busy trying to tell others what to do i.e. abortion, same sex marriage, etc.

I have to commend GOP leadership because they EXCEL at using the tools available to them (FOX, Talk radio, etc.) to hammer the talking points and key words into their base, effectively convincing them to vote against laws and programs that would benefit them the most. I would prefer if they just came out and say "we don't like minorities and poor people" instead of using the code words like "welfare queen", "thugs", "immigration", "entitlements", and what not. But like I said, whatever works.

I hear its like a qs hyperstrike type release. Only for millions and millions of people. It prolly won't be operational for several weeks still.

 @ bombarded.....

Administration is tight lipped on enrollment #'s...

 The logic.

The servers are overloaded due to popularity and a high number of hits, so clearly a lot of people won't be enrolled till the high number of hits can be accomodated and the glitches are fixed. It will be fixed, there's time. I don't understand what logic people who don't believe it's popular are trying to express. I gotta believe these are the old coots (and their weaker minded followers that absorb whatever they say) that need tech support to find the power button on a pc. Every single thing that's new and tech related with mass appeal has glitches. I feel like i'm taking crazy pills living in this country sometimes.

thread title is misleading as hell. technical issues unappreciation =/= affordable care act unappreciation

^ You are either really dumb or have horrible reading comprehension, because I can't find any reference to ACA unappreciation in the thread title.

And did you even read my rant?

So which is it?

Ite so i suggest you tune into da news & realize

How far apart they are.
my dambs reside on the financial side, brah...

eff all that political nonsense... i'm not at a point in my life to where their decisions are life altering to me (company provides healthcare, i'm in certain tax bracket for awhile, and my voice on whatever doesnt matter b/c i dont have enough money to shake things up)

arguing back and forth w/ people is pointless.

(on the national level) voting, parties, etc doesnt matter... its about who got the most money...

people thinking that the govt is going to default are simply misinformed.. that's the point of my statement.

america has defaulted multiple times in the past.

Have the news playing in the background and heard something about funding issues playing a role in this mess.

The company hired to code the site got a late start because they weren't paid.

Not sure how accurate that is and haven't looked into it, but like I said, I just casually heard in being talked about.

Come on man.. do you post articles without checking out who actually wrote the article?

Avik Roy, In 2012, I served as a health care policy advisor to Mitt Romney.

Here's another one of his Obamacare bashing articles

 So what do you expect?

But democrats or obama aint trying to negotiate

I'm clueless , are you republican?. I think I remember you saying that you were bipartisan or something.
In fairness to ninjahood, he signed up to be a Republican but his application was quickly rejected by the GOP once he entered in his zip code information.  He still has hopes and dreams of one day finally being accepted.

Trying to discredit the author as a way of discrediting the information is a logical fallacy. I would like to think we are just a bit smarter than that.

May Only Be In 'Single Digits'

That's not ridiculously funny? So only up to 9 people signed up? How do we interpret single digits cause he's citing an anonymous official as his main source for this worthless article!

“Very, very few people that we’re aware of have enrolled in the federal exchange,” said one anonymous insurance industry official to the Washington Post. “We are talking single digits.”

You're a joke

An article about how they messed up the site, and you think it fits your "nobody wants to sign up" rhetoric.

i forget people dont like to "read" because that would involve people actually using that space between their ears....

The video provided my damn point and U.N.E.N.O

The video is about difficulties with the rolling out the program. Not the "nobody gonna sign up for this, they don't want this, they just gonna pay the penalty " rhetoric you having been trying to spew.

Yep. Wasn't gonna even respond because citing an article that claims single digits with an "anonymous source" is rather ridiculous. Not to mention dude's background.

I won't say that the numbers will be through the roof, but they're also not single digits, either. The truth probably resides somewhere in the middle. I'd say the numbers are less than what the Obama camp wanted, but not low enough to be a total flop like Conservatives want it to be.

Quite frankly, I really don't care. I just want to check out rates so I can plan ahead.
