NFL Week 6 In Review...

Marvin (and his teams) seems to miss the opportunity to stomp on the throat of an opponent and put them out. Been that way for years. Amazing talent finder, average coach. Nice to see you think this is just written as a dig towards Cincy, meanwhile I've posted a ton of strictly positive comments on the team (mostly the D) yet you seem to miss those? Believe it or not I don't have an agenda towards the Bengals, I simply comment and react on what I see and hear which is quite a bit due to my living situation
You got it, man. Did you watch the game yesterday? Did you see the huge gambles that Mike Zimmer took that led to TDs? This is something that's more tangible to point to than "Marvin Lewis missing the opportunity to stomp on the throat of an opponent". Yes, that has been the narrative. However, it makes a lot more sense to look at what actually happened. 2 bad defensive playcalls and then and then Nugent missing and easy FG that would've put the team up 17. I've had no problem calling out Marvin, but that just wasn't the case yesterday from someone who watched the game.

i was hoping that was amendola who left him hanging so i could say amendola was afraid he'd break his hand :smh:

edelman was probably pissed at brady for putting it right on his hands, so he had no one else to blame but himself when he dropped it

I listened, did not watch. Got to hear Lapham making his usual screams and grunts instead of allowing Dan to call the play :smh:

I understand your point about the failed blitz calls, I'm just saying big picture, year after year it seems to be common with Mavin led teams. I will make more specific points next time

Yes I was doing yard work

-This is around the time of the year you will start to see the amount posts in this thread start to lower. The views will still be there but now "fans" of certain teams will just stay on the sideline. (Giants fans, Falcons. Skins, Texans, Vikings, etc...)

Wrong.

Hauschka

Seahawks offensive line continues to be a huge issue, passing game is buns....Need Percy back asap

Beast mode and Russy doe

Kendall Wright can ball, he owned BB a handful of times that game

Jags covered

Kind of amazing to me, that a former #1 overall pick, a QB taken before Aaron Rodgers, is on the SECOND team of his career where his job is to only stay out of the way and let the defense/running game win while he does nothing but snap the ball.

In this day and age of QB's needed to win, Alex Smith just stacks up W after W, doing little to nothing.

The Chiefs defense is serious. I look forward to their matchups with the Broncos in a few weeks.

Alex threw for 128 yards yesterday, averaged 4 yards per completion (which, honestly, has to be a record. 4?) @ a 45% clip... and won by 17.

Trent Dilfer version 2013.

Vikings:

- I knew it would end bad for those clamoring for Cassel. I didn't think he would be so bad in only his 2nd game and against Carolina, no less, but he's not a starter at this point.
- Freeman era starts next Monday.
- Frazier just might be on the hot seat...He should be.

League:

- Romo. :pimp:
- Foles :pimp:
- Lions could very well win the NFC North. Packers still not impressive.
- Carson Palmer and Brandon Weeden are clearly holding their teams back.
- Kind of happy Arrowhead earned the record for loudest crowd. Fanbase has been stable for years upon years. That defense though. :x
- Proud of Gus Bradley and how the Jags fought against Denver.
- Some bad calls being made out there in regards to the player safety stuff.
- Costas needs to go to MSNBC already.
- Denver/Dallas, New Orleans/New England...Keep 'em coming, NFL.

P.S. - Load up on skins of red nostalgia while you can. I have a feeling they change their name soon. It seems to be picking up steam.

Alex Smith's career record is 2-27 when his opponent scores 24 points.  Twenty four.

:wow:

I knew it was bad, but damn.

My brain still can't fathom this number. 4. 4 yards. How?

That's a great point champ.  For those not living in the DC area, a few officials at public schools are having meetings to discuss banning students from wearing this paraphernalia city wide.  That just goes to show that progress is being made in hopes of the team changing it's name which hopefully will happen in the near future.

Geno and the Jets came back down to the reality of growing pains with a rookie QB. The trap was real in that game though :smh: . Offense was flat, defense was too when they really needed to make stops.

-You know you have a **** offense when your top WR for the game was Clyde Gates.
-Powell needs the ball more. Him and Ivory will see even more touches because Goodson may be hurt for a while after suffering an injury at the end of the game.
-Cromartie has to be the most penalized CB for DPI in the league. Seems every game he's getting flagged at least once.
-Geno has a great arm, but needs to work on the accuracy a bit more and read the secondaries better to avoid throwing Sanchez-type picks that end drives, kill momentum, and even chances to win.

Rest of the league
Not much I want to comment on other than the fact that the Boston sports Gods were in full affect yesterday >: . Started with the Pats, then the Sox. Bad feels last night for me.

Alex Smith got easiest job in the league right now. All you haveto do is not turn the ball over. That's it. Come playoff time though they'll need him to make some plays.

I'm glad to hear Cobbs injury isn't that serious. The NFL is basically forcing defensive players to go that low. If a defender hits somebody in the chest and their helmets barely touch they get flagged and fined. Damn near impossible to lay hits nowadays.

Pretty much missed all of the games Sunday cause I was way this weekend but caught the end of the Pats vs. Saints...That throw by Brady...mannn :pimp:

The only way the name will change is if major sponsors want to cut ties. Until then....

Since the Chargers play tonight I'll leave a few comments on the team I root for in the NFC.

The Pack.
Like my fantasy team name says... "Keep Calm & Aaron On." :pimp:

That throw to jordy :wow: :x had me HYPED. :pimp:
Rodgers had to deal with buckets of drops from those receivers. BUCKETS FULL OF DROPS. Even Jordy had a bad one early in the game. Butterfingers Finley had his share as usual. And even though Boykin came in and made a nice play he also had NUMEROUS bad drops. It was damn near miraculous that Aaron figured out a way to put points up without Cobb and Jones on top of the flurry of drops.

Lacy though. :pimp:
Like I said in last weeks WIR... Lacy > Trent.
Elusiveness. Size. Strength. Speed. Vision. This dude has it all. So happy to see the Pack finally have a legit back. Hope he stays healthy.

Gotta give props to the Packers D for playing with so much heart with all their injuries. They harrased Fluko all day long. Played great.

Whaddup with Harbaugh though? Why not take the field goal in such a close game on 4th and goal? Why would he keep going for it when the running game was SHUT DOWN all day long.

Those 3 points were pretty important John...

--------------------
Rest of the NFL:

S4L S4L @GUNNA GET IT ...Shoes and Gunna weren't lying when they said Cam is still one of the best, if not thee best young qb out there. I don't want to overreact, as he did had a few horrendous throws. However, he recovered quickly and put that team on his back. Great performance from Superman. Showed great pocket presence and it was nice seeing him run one in for a TD again.

It's a shame Cam had such an awful coaching staff and inconsistent receivers... Or else they'd probably be 4-1 right now.

Tolberts TD dance

Geno had a bad day... But Pittsburgh isn't exactly an easy defense for a rookie to play. He's still developing. He's still progressing. No reason to panic, it was just obvious that the Steel curtain was due for a win yesterday.

Brady gonna Brady.
Payton went way too conservative. When you have Brees, go for the kill. That's the difference between Bellicheck and Payton. If Bill had the lead Payton had in the 4th quarter, I guarantee he wouldn't have called so many conservative plays in a row.

Big cAtch from Stills though.
And Jimmy's presence was missed.

My dude Amendola... :frown:
He can't catch a break. He finally plays through a few games without breaking like glass, and he takes the most vicious hit to the head knocking him out. My dude is just jynxed at this point. That hit would of knocked anyone out. But it's just going to be seen as him being
The same injury prone guy. Unfortunate and unlucky. Hope he's okay because watching him try to walk all dazed was sad and :x

And finally.

Let's
Go
Bolts!

We may not make the playoffs playing in the AFC West... But we still have a chance to win some games and spoil a lot of people's records. Lucks gonna tear our pathetic secondary apart, but Let's go out there and out score them and win tonight. Hope my boy Vincent Brown goes off :pimp:
