So far this project is

After the first spin, a bit underwhelmed. Had high expectations based on the strength of Sorry & I'll Show You.

Will def have to give a few more spins this weekend

Same. Was hoping he stuck to one lane, but he kinda veered around with the piano ballads and R&Bish banger-type tracks. They're OK, but I don't find them that interesting

Brehs, this album is pretty damn good. I heard you all hyping Journals so I checked it out and liked most of it.

I'm up to track 9 on this new joint and wow....dude has knocked it outta the park so far. Like I'm legitimately impressed. The kid has always had talent but for obvious reasons, a grown man wouldn't have been a big fan in his earlier years. And yeah, he's probably still a pretentious d-bag in real life. But so what--the music I've heard so far on this new album trumps all that.

I'm having a hard time coming to grasps with cheering on a kid that my daughter has a blanket of, but eff it. Good music is good music.

Purpose track makes you feel for him, I don't know about y'all but if I was a megastar through my teens, I might not be angel. PR team knows what they are doing.

Album is certified dope after multiple listens :pimp:

I am more than impressed with this album so far. 1 time through and i had 0 expectations for this album and i can't even lie i really like it.

Still super early but......

US chart preview (early projection) - debuts: @onedirection's Made In The A.M. & @justinbieber's Purpose 350k (sales only).

How does stuff like Apple Connect work?

I don't buy albums, I pay my $9.99 a month and add them, that's pretty much an album sale IMO

Skrillex, man. Bhris Brown had a couple Skrillex joints on X too that were bangers.

The battle between SYCO/Columbia’s One Direction and Def Jam’s Justin Bieber finds both titles overperforming on release day. According to very early reads, 1D has grabbed the edge by exploding at physical retail, largely due to the four exclusive covers available at Target, while the group’s Walmart numbers are strong as well. We’re projecting 375-400k albums/400-425k SPS for 1D, while Bieber is trending toward 340-365k/400-425k.

At this point, it appears that the two albums will finish in a virtual tie at iTunes, where Bieber has surged, but his digital-sales performance may not give him enough to make up the difference at physical. While 1D is now favored to take the album chart, Biebs’ considerable power on the streaming platform makes the possibility of a split chart very real.

However, with both sides engaged in a grueling marathon of events, promotions, tie-ins and whatnot, the advantage in this no-holds-barred throwdown is likely to shift multiple times before next week’s chart is final. We will of course be updating the scoring in this heavyweight bout round by round; you make the popcorn.

And if you think 1D is moving a lot of CDs, just wait till their labelmate’s debut next week

'Sorry' is my top pick...there are just certain songs that are on another level for me...Sorry is one of them

Big Sean ruined No Pressure

I feel that way about Travis Scott on No Sense. And I'm a fan of Trav

I like 'No Pressure' but I'm lowkey starting to realize how/why rap/rappers are second string in the grand scheme of music (with the exception of few)...A lot of these pop/r&b songs that feature a rapper, by the time it hits radio, it's a singer-only version. As big as Katy Perry - Dark Horse was, not once have I heard Juicy's part on the radio. It happens pretty frequently IMO

Justin Bieber album been a huge topic of the day among all demographics! Knew JB would kill with that. And watch the reloaded version or some **** drop around Christmas.

Sure, many people will still refuse to listen for the sole reason that it's Bieber, but ultimately, that's just their loss. With Purpose, he proves himself as one of today's most forward-thinking pop stars, and because of that, we're newly converted Beliebers. - USA Today

Spot on
