Justin Bieber Thread - No Brainer out 7/27

Yeah he had to come out with an pop/edm ish single. However, I really like his r&b stuff. Still play journals. Sure he'll have some r&b joints on the album.
 
Looks like RnB Bieber had to die for Justin Bieber's sins. It's a damn shame because "Journals" still bangs and people still sleep. :smh:

I don't even think it's that, Journals was when he was repairing his image and for his comeback single he needed something big

I'd be willing to bet there's a fair share of R&B on the new album, I bet the second single is R&B
 
Where are you now and What do you mean are good songs.

I like what he's been doing lately.

Beat and melody was dope. Saying "What You Mean" every other line got a little annoying though.

I thought the same however, after looking at Taylor Swift numbers not even close! Her number one hits and total album sales are INSANE!!!!! Her album is STILL IN TOP 10! It came out close to a year ago. She sold 1.3 million first week (in 2014) unheard of. She's close to 10 million sold WW.

Taylor has the most power but if today is any indication then she is being challenged by Bieber for that crown

5 minutes to #1 is unheard of, he went #1 in like 100 countries today

Nah doubt it, Bieber biggest first weeks sales is 375k. Highly doubt he sales over 500k worth new album first week. He for sure won't sale over 2 million totally (here in U.S.) Taylor sold 5.1 million here in the U.S. alone off last album. His last album sold around 1.3 million in U.S. (Taylor for they opening week).

that's true but that was when he was still selling to a teenie fanbase, now he's getting his Justin Timberlake on

hell if I would have bought his first two albums but I will cop this one and I think that's how a lot of people feel

Hope he can make that transition like JT! It can be hard to do. He did great promo for this single though.

Pop --> R&B (Journals) --> back to Pop to appeal to the masses again
