Research on it is definitely not scarce.
Well educate me because my cousins always send me links arguing this but it always "cannabinoids found in marijuana".
Shouldn't isolating, extracting and synthesizing the cancer fighting compounds and manufacturing it in a pill form with no side effects be the end game. Not just allowing people to smoke cause it "fight da cancer"
If anything these studies make the argument that marijuana/hemp should be researched for health benefits, not "let us smoke"
Plus the study mentions "when combined" with other treatments and it wasn't human trial
That's the end game for big pharma but why would regular people want to buy prescription drugs when they can grow their own proven, organic medicine for free almost? Cannabanoids don't exist in pure form in real life and isolating them would only result in unwanted side effects as was the case with sativex and other cannabis based drugs. They tried this numerous times and the govt has patents for cannabis - however they failed at making it into pill form which is why the war on drugs is still the most lucrative option for big business.

What happens if these studies begin to be accepted by the medical world. Is there a possibility of decriminalizing more than it has in the recent past, and exempting it from employer/sports/military medical examinations.
More of these cases need to come to light.

^using a vaporizer will have significantly less irritants making cancer less likely. you can also use edibles, that way there are no irritants and you can still get cannabinoids into your system.

lol the only documented medical benefit of weed is in pain management and appetite increase especially in terminal patients. I'm skeptical of all these studies of weed curing anything.
People will believe what they want to believe. The fact that someone took an in vitro study and somehow concluded that marijuana cures cancer is beyond me. There's very little information in this topic considering the implications of the claims.

Don't even get me started on the fact that not all "cancers" are the same. So to make a blanket statement on one thing curing cancer is foolish. Different cancers have different chemical, cellular and pathophysiologic mechanisms. A lot of things kill "cancer" cells in vitro.
I do support the use of THC for palliative measures and for pain. After all doctors prescribe way harder drugs like vicodin and morphine like its candy. It should be highly regulated in healthcare, but the potential for abuse is always a reality.
