Study: Weed Stops Cancer

Yeah, to say "weed cures cancer" IS a blanket statement. Like he stated, they're all different, they have different weaknesses, etc.

I am also tired of this pot-as-cure-all cult.

Cannabis, heroin, cocaine and every other illicit recreational drug should be legal because drug prohibition is bad policy.

Cannabis is a very useful palliative substance (it treats a wide variety of symptoms caused by many different diseases). Cannabis may be able to prevent or cure certain maladies as well.

However, if you listen to the hardcore stoners, you would think that cannabis would put the pharmaceutical industry out of business. They are like faith healers, no matter what health problem you have, don't go to the doctor, just pray.

The radical cannabis advocates act the same way. They think that if you have any serious illness, you don't need to go to some evil Western medicine oriented doctor or hospital, just smoke more pot and you'll be fine.

There is a balance. Pot does help society way more than it harms. The reality is, most people on this train just want to smoke without being a criminal. Studies since La Guardia have shown the vast medical benefits of marijuana. However, pot being legal COULD adversely affect many industries, and loosen political and economic control from a lot of big companies (all oil companies). Most people don't know the history of oil, therefore they don't understand the danger that ANY versatile product can have on that particular industry. Pre-1950's we had very few uses for petroleum, but had a very high supply. The oil companies pushed millions into research in order to find/create uses for the slick substance; now we have plastic, styrofoam, insecticides, pharmaceuticals, some rubbers, clothing, cooking oil, etc. how far reaching big oil goes in our lives. Now imagine if a whole bunch of peace loving potheads did the samething...we were allowed to study and create new uses for the versatile plant? It presents a danger to the retail level of big oil, which creates a shift away from oil, it's not the 'getting high' or 'getting healed' its the threat of replacing cooking oils, replacing styrofoam a, replacing some pharma, insecticides...etc.
 
With the slow legalizing happening, how do you guys see things playing out if it's legalized in more states as time passes, will this be one of the biggest shifts to happen in recent history. There are so many things legalization will impact, i can't begin to wrap my mind around it.

i don't like smoking and driving. all that extra attention focused on the road detracts from the experience.

I've made a conscious decision to cut back on my intake. Been waking and baking way too much and not writing enough.

plus it makes you tolerance go down which isnt a bad thing at all

if im getting high quicker! i aint complaining. hahaha
 
the other weed thread last almost 3 days..

Long as we talk about the medical effects it should be ok to discuss.

That tolerance break and getting more with less is def why I want to cut back.
 
Stop talking about using Marijuana...thats why the last thread got locked. Meth made it perfectly clear in that other thread; so long as we are talking medical effects and politics the thread will remain open, when we start saying "just got a job, I'm back to blazin" the thread gets locked.

One issue I have with "potheads" they can't bring up pot without talking about how much they smoke it...this ain't the time or place for that.

Man, I've been in and watched the last three-four threads get closed, this one has hope, don't mess that up with "pothead" comments.
