If PEDs were linked to a star athlete, which one would be the most devastating?

I already expect every athlete taking/took some sort of PEDs, everyone is looking for a edge up on the competition

None.

Wouldnt change how I look at any athlete tbh

same. you can't quantify PEDs affects on players and their performance.

also, i never understood why some things are ok and some things aren't. like why is it okay for players to take cortisone shots? they basically numb the pain for the player to be able to play through it. how is that not performance enhancing?

Tiger Woods is not only the face of Nike, he's the face of the entire sport. Before he came into the scene, golf was a dying sport. He single-handedly carried that sport to where it is today. If he were caught with PEDs, it would be disastrous for the game.

I think the all-timer is Griffey. I don't think there's been any athlete's name that's come up in more "god, I hope he wasn't juicing" conversations than him.

Purist would rejoice if woods went down

Their precious sport would be back in their hands....he brought the popularity back and now they'll have him out the picture

floyd mayweather....

imagine him beating everybody. every. single. opponent..............cuz he cheated.

90% of boxing cheats...it won't be that devastating. The biggest superstar for years was a guy with a tat by his heart who was scared of needles. It won't hurt.

never understood why PED's are such a big deal. if someone wants to take them to get an edge then why not?

I feel its gotta be Michael Phelps. As a country we have some serious bragging rights with this guy on our squad. If he were to be cheating the entire time America would look like a joke. Entire world would be laughing at us.

Keep in mind that the difference between a magnificent media blowup dubbing a players legacy and reputation as "tainted forever"... and absolutely no lash back whatsoever, is simply which of those tiny, hard-to-read ingredients on the bottle are deemed legal or illegal by the league. Even though one is Domino A and the other is like Domino G, they really impact one another.

The most devastating one in my mind would be Ken Griffey Jr.

Or maybe a player that is not known for his power but rather his efficient hitting. Ala, Joe Mauer. You still get Twins fans calling into radio stations in Minnesota claiming that Mauer used steroids in 2009 because his contract year was on the horizon, but stopped once his name was on the line that signified $180 million dollars was on a one-way trip to his bank account.

Joe Mauer
2009: 138 games. 28 HRs.

The years 2010-2013 accounted for 49% of Joe Mauer's games played so far into his career. These were his prime years, ages 27-30. What were his combined numbers during that 49% of his career?

2010-2013: 479 games. 33 HRs.

:x

And imagine if it came out that he did steroids in 2009 before his contract year that was supposed to be after 2010? Can you imagine how quick the fans in Minnesota would turn on the hometown hero that stayed home, because he was actually a guy that "cheated" for more $?

word, imagine how that whole pacquiao ordeal would be looked at

guys like Bolt, Mayweather, and Woods would be devastating

for bigger sports/leagues like the NBA and NFL, no single player would be as devastating IMO

like if Bolt were to be linked with PEDs, sprinting is ******. If LeBron got busted NBA doesn't lose all that much credibility, it'll mostly fall on Bron.

Those twins fans are idiots, I've explained this a million times, the entire history of baseball are littered with these 1 year power spikes.

anybody who thought that 28 homer was kidding themselves, he has a whole bunch of barley homrun shots if i rmeebr correctly.
